April 25, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to receive a courtesy call visit by Ms. Sajia Yarmal, and Miss Diba Maram, an Afghan Nationals visiting Japan under the NGO GETA. Also in attendance to greet the two guests were all of the diplomats.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat extended a sincere welcome to Ms. Sajia Yarmal and Miss Diba Maram. Ms. Yarmal is currently a student at Afghanistan’s premier university—Kabul University, where she is majoring in German Literature. She is a very active member of the Afghan NGO Naween. She is accompanying young Miss Maram who has traumatically induced hearing loss and is in Japan to have her hearing aids fitted and adjusted under the auspices of the NGO GETA.
Ms. Yarmal and Miss Maram thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for making time in his schedule to meet with them and for inviting them so warmly to the embassy. Further, they discussed the many experiences and sights they’ve encountered while on their trip in Japan. Following their meeting at the Embassy, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat accompanied them to Ms. Yarmal's Special Lecture at Nihon University - the university very special to H.E.Dr. Mohabbat where he received his PhD in International Law in 2007.

On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat extended a sincere gratitude to Mr. Katsuyoshi Nakazato, of the NGO GETA, for arranging the opportunity and inviting Ms. Sajia Yarmal, a student at Kabul University, to speak on the current situation of life and the educational environment of Afghanistan. In return, Mr. Nakazato thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for attending this unique event as well as for his kind words. Further they promised to find further opportunities to arrange informative collaborations such as this.
While at the well-attended event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with Professor Kensuke Kono, Dean of the Department of Japanese language and Literature College of Humanities & Science of Nihon University, as well as other faculty members and students of Nihon University and other guests who were interested in listening to Ms. Yarmal’s experiences and observations about contemporary Afghanistan.
