28/04/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends Afghan-Japan Exchange Program at Tokyo University of the Arts


April 28, 2016: It was a pleasure for His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie to attend "Afghan-Japan Exchange Program with young researchers form Tokyo University of the Arts in PEACE Project," which was attended by Dr. Bashir Mohabbat (Minister-Counsellor), and Mr. M. Yasir Karimi (Second secretary) from the embassy, and some 80 people involved in the project, such as Afghan JICA scholars, professors and researchers from Tokyo University of Arts, staff from Japan International Cooperation Agency and Japan International Cooperation Center. Among them was the Honorable Madam Sadako Ogata, Adviser to Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and JICA, of whom H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the great pleasure of meeting again. As she visited and observed the the exhibition of "the Displaced Cultural Properties from Afghanistan," and "the restoration of the lost mural paintings on the ceiling of Great Buddha," Madam Ogata expressed her congratulations to the organizers and Afghans for the occasion that connects Japan and Afghanistan, along with the exhibition of "the Hidden Treasures -from the National Museum, Kabul" being held at neighboring Tokyo National Museum. She added that it's her pleasure to witness, as she had worked for Afghan affairs since she was an UN officer, and later a Japanese government envoy, culturally rich Afghanistan is displayed in Japan for public, as well as seeing Afghan exchange students studying in Japan.

At the reception, the second half of the program, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie gave his remark stating that, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, he expressed his sincere appreciation to Tokyo University of the Arts, JICA, JICE, and all experts who had been involved in the repair and exhibition of the project, that connects Afghanistan and Japan closer than ever. By leveraging this great opportunity, he wished to further strengthen the friendly relation of Afghanistan and Japan that has linked the two countries since the time of Silk Road, H.E. Dr. Fatimie added. Two Afghan students made their presentation regarding Bamiyan, where in Afghanistan the Great Buddha statues locate, and Afghan dishes were served for all participants.

27/04/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends World Tsunami Day Reception


April 27, 2016: It was His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie's great pleasure in attending the reception to celebrate the December 23rd, 2015 adoption of World Tsunami Day (November 5th) by the United Nations General Assembly. Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Minister-Counsellor, accompanied H.E. Ambassador.

The reception was attended by hundreds of dignitaries, high rank officials, and distinguished guests, such as H.E. Mr. Taro Aso, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, who gave his remarks, and other former Ministerial class top figures. Among them, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and Dr. Mohabbat had particular pleasure in meeting again, and expressing on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the gratitude for their continued assistance, long time friends personally as well as of Afghanistan, the Honorable Mr. Toshihiro Nikai, Member of the House of Representative, and Chairman of General Council, Liberal Democratic Party; the Honorable Mr. Kenshiro & Mrs. Kuniko Matsunami, Japan-Afghanistan Association; as well as Their Excellencies Ambassadors and members of diplomatic missions.

His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the great honor and pleasure of attending The Garden Party hosted by Their Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his gratitude to Their Majesties, as well as to Their Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako.

April 25, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the great pleasure and honor of warmly welcoming to Japan the honorable Members of Wolesi Jirga (Lower House of the Parliament) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Honorable Dr. Golalai Nur Safi; Honorable Dr. Obaidullah Kalemzai; and Mr. Nezamudin Adel, Director of International Relations Department. The delegation is visiting Japan to attend G7 Global Conference of Parliamentarians on Population and Development being held in Tokyo. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie hosted a dinner reception in honor of the most esteemed delegation's visit to Japan at the Embassy of Afghanistan with the attendance of all diplomatic staff stationed in Tokyo.

April 21, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had a pleasure in welcoming H.E. Ambassador of Fiji, Mr. Isikeli Uluinairai Mataitoga for his courtesy call to the Embassy of Afghanistan in Tokyo. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie warmly welcomed H.E. Ambassador Mr. Mataitoga, who visited the Embassy to introduce the Fijian candidacy for the United Nations General Assembly's presidency. H.E. Dr. Fatimie expressed that he will convey the request of the support to Kabul, and Their Excellencies Ambassadors further discussed the issues of mutual interest for the betterment of the relation between the two countries.

April 15, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had a pleasure in attending the Islamic Republic of Iran Armed Forces Day Reception held at H.E. Iranian Ambassador's Residence. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his congratulations to H.E. Ambassador Dr. Reza Nazarahari of Iran, and the attending diplomats on the occasion. H.E. Dr. Nazarahari in return expressed his appreciation for H.E. Dr. Fatimie's attendance and kind words.
Among the many guests attended, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the opportunity to communicate with Honorable Gen. Shigeru Iwasaki (Rt), Special Adviser to the Minister of Defence of Japan; Honorable Mr. Tsukasa Uemura, Director-General; and Mr. Katsuhiko Takahashi, Deputy Director-General, Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. H.E. Dr. Fatimie expressed his sincere condolences to the said officials for the casualties from the earthquake in Kumamoto which occurred the night before. They all appreciated H.E. Ambassador's kind sympathy, and stated that they will deliver the message to each of their ministries and the leadership of the Cabinet. H.E. Ambassador also had the pleasure of meeting with the Honorable Mr. Akira Sato, Chairman, Standing Committee on Security, and Member of the House of Representatives; the Honorable Daishiro Yamagiwa, Ph.D, former-State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Member of the House of Representatives; Capt. A day after the inaugural opening ceremony of the Hidden Treasures Exhibition in Tokyo, the time arrived for the public opening. His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the great honor and pleasure of accompanying H.E. Mr. Zardasht Shams, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to warmly and sincerely welcome Her Imperial Highness Princess Hisako Takamado at the Tokyo National Museum for Her Imperial Highness' visit to the exhibition.

It was H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie's pleasure to meet again with H.I.H. Princess Takamado, and accompany Her together with H.E. Deputy Minister Shams, as she was impressed by the ancient artifacts from Afghanistan on display. The occasion of which was widely reported on the media in Japan.

April 09, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the great pleasure of attending a Cherry Blossom Party hosted by the Prime Minister of Japan, H.E. Mr. Shinzo Abe at Shinjuku Garden. Under the sunny Spring sky in Tokyo, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie particularly had the great pleasure and honor of shaking hands and directly conversing with H.E. Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe. H.E. Dr. Fatimie further had pleasure of meeting with the Honorable Mr. Shinsuke Okuno, Vice-Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party, and Member of the House of Representatives; along with other dignitaries, Members of the Diet, Their Excellencies Ambassadors, distinguished guests, and many others invited, a pleasure in appreciating the beautiful sakura (cherry blossom) together.

April 06, 2016: It was a pleasure of His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie in attending the 26th Peace Diplomats Forum, in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Japan's entry into the United Nations, organized by the Universal Peace Federation Japan. During the forum held at United Naitons University, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the pleasure of listening to the keynote speech by H.E. Ambassador Nobuyasu Abe, former-UN Under-Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs, titled "Japan's Role in Disarmament and Non-Proliferation," which was very comprehensive and informative.

April 05, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the pleasure of meeting with the Honorable Mr. Tsukasa Uemura, Director-General of Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. Mr. Yasir M. Karimi, Second secretary, accompanied H.E. Dr. Fatimie to Mr. Uemura's office at MOFA Japan. In the meeting, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and DG Mr. Uemura discussed the issues of mutual interest, including the upcoming international conferences related to Afghanistan, Warsaw Conference scheduled in July, and Brussels Conference scheduled in October.

 April 04, 2016: At the kind invitation of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the pleasure of attending the reception on the occasion of Arab Week. This event was held on behalf of the Council of Arab Ambassadors and Heads of Mission in Japan, in celebration of Arab-Japan Friendship. H.E. Mr. Waleed Siam, Dean of Arab Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Permanent General Mission of Palestine, gave opening remarks to the many honored guests in attendance. He was followed by a speech given by H.E. Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan. In his comments, PM Abe expressed the great importance for attaining and preserving stability in the Middle East, and the efforts by Japan to do so.

 While in attendance at this event, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the pleasure in meeting again with his long time frined, the Honorable Mr. Natsuo Yamaguchi, Chief Representative of Komeito Party, as well as several of Their Excellencies Ambassadors and distinguished guests who were present.
