Meeting Concerning Developments in the Peace Process with H.E. Mr. Natsuo Yamaguchi.

April 11, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to have a meeting with his longtime friend, Chief Representative of the Komei Party and Member of the House of Councilors of Japan, H.E. Mr. Natsuo Yamaguchi at his office in the House of Councillors Headquarters in Nagatacho. Also in attendance was Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat thanked H.E. Mr. Yamaguchi for making time in his schedule to meet with them. Further, and on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked H.E. Mr. Yamaguchi for the very longtime friendly relationship between Japan and Afghanistan as well as between themselves. He expressed his thanks to the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan who have sincerely helped Afghanistan achieve great strides in progress on the road towards stability, peace, and prosperity. In return, H.E. Mr. Yamaguchi thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for meeting with him, his kind words, and assured him of Japan’s continued support of Afghanistan in its development. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat came to the crux of his visit to apprise H.E. Mr. Yamaguchi of the most recent developments regarding the progress and expansions related to the peace process. H.E. Mr. Yamaguchi was very impressed and interested in the most current steps and developments in the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process towards peace.
