March 30, 2016: It was a pleasure for His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie in warmly welcoming Professor Masaaki Miyasako and Professor Takashi Inoue of Tokyo University of the Arts, and Mr. Kazuya Yamauchi of National Research Institute for Cultural Properties, Tokyo. Mr. Abdulzaman Akbari, Third secretary, also attended the meeting. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his appreciation, on behalf of the people, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and the embassy, to Profs. Miyasako and Inoue, and Mr. Yamauchi for their efforts in taking good care of Afghan artifacts, as well as the ongoing preparations for the Hidden Treasures Exhibition which will start at Tokyo National Museum and at Tokyo University of the Arts, in a few weeks time. H.E. Dr. Fatimie noted that their work on the precious Afghan treasures have connected, and will continue to do so, the people of Afghanistan and Japan closer than ever.

25/03/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and the Diplomats Visit the Afghan National Football Team
March 25th, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie and the Afghan embassy staff had the great pleasure of visiting the Afghan national football team. A day after the match against Japan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie, Mr. M. Yasir Karimi (Second secretary), and Mr. Abdulzaman Akbari (Third secretary) visited the team and expressed what a great opportunity it was to see the proud Afghan national team was in Japan to play for the FIFA qualifier, and encouraged them for the upcoming match against Singapore. H.E. Dr. Fatimie presented his appreciation letter to the entire team staff for their hard work, on behalf of the embassy, for building the interest in football skills in Afghanistan and for further inspiring many in the country. Their example promotes peaceful exchange between countries in this modern era, not only between players, but also between supporters.
Just a day following the match, the team was already scheduled to head to prepare for the next game. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie, Mr. Ahmad Bashir Gafoori (First secretary), Mr. Karimi, and Mr. Akbari accompanied the team to the airport, and wished them the best of luck and success for the upcoming matches.

24/03/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Observes the National Soccer Match between Afghanistan and Japan
March 24, 2016: It was His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie's pleasure and honor to observe 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Asian Qualifiers Round 2 and AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 Preliminary Joint Qualification match between Afghanistan and Japan at Saitama Stadium. Following their previous qualifying encounter held last September, the Afghan national football team traveled to and matched in Japan for the first time.
In the stadium filled with nearly 50,000 supporters, both national teams have tried their best, as well as have enjoyed the international exchange through the sport. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had a great pleasure in meeting and communicating with the Afghan national team members, and the executives of the Japan Football Association.

March 21, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie and all the diplomats stationed in Tokyo had a great pleasure in welcoming the Afghan national football team to Japan. After their training in Qatar, the team led by head coach Mr. Petar Segrt, arrived and are scheduled to have a match against Japan on Thursday, March 24, as part of the FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia Asian Qualifiers Round 2 and AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifier.
The team had their first encounter against the Japanese team in a home game September of last year. With the support of team manager Mr. Mustafa Mehrzad, Mr. Ali Askar Lali & Gela Shekiladze, and other technical staffers, the team is in preparation to be in their best condition for the match on Thursday.

March 17, 2016:His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the pleasure and honor to visit Japan International Cooperation Agency’s Headquarters and meet with President Mr. Shinichi Kitaoka. Mr. M. Yasir Karimi (Second secretary) and Mr. Abdulzaman Akbari (Third secretary) were also present at the meeting. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie first congratulated Mr. Kitaoka on the appointment as JICA’s President, and expressed his wishes for him to be successful as the head of the important organization. H.E. Dr. Fatimie added his appreciation, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, JICA for having conducted a number of reconstruction projects in Afghanistan for reconstruction over the years, and noted that people in Afghanistan now live a longer, healthier and happier life as a positive result of their projects. Further, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie extended his wish that JICA continue their projects in the country, and assured them the government of Afghanistan will cooperate in implementing them. From Afghanistan, seven participants and a supervisor were invited by Japan's official project offering them an experience of Japan, along with 24 other participants from the member countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. To mark the end of their 10-day tour, the presentation session was held, with the attendance of more than 100 people.

March 11, 2016: It was His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie's honor to attend the Memorial Ceremony to Mark the Fifth Anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake organized by the Government of Japan. The ceremony was held with the attendance of Their Majesties Emperor and Empress, H.E. Prime Minister and his Cabinet members, the Honorable leadership of both Houses of Diet, H.E. Chief Justice, members of diplomatic missions and international organizations, families of victims. In his remarks as the chairperson of the ceremony, H.E. Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe expressed his sincere condolences to the family and friends of victims, and his pledge that the government will continue to do its best for the reconstruction as well as continue efforts for the prevention of disaster impacts ("bosai"). His Majesty Emperor Akihito made a speech to extended his condolences and care to all those who were affected by the earthquake, and his deepest gratitude to those who worked tirelessly to help the affected. At 14:46, the time of the earthquake's occurrence exactly 5 years ago, a silent prayer was observed not only at the ceremony, but also nation-wide.

H.E. Ambassador Mr. Isticioaia-Budura of EU noted they cordially invite high ranking officials of Japanese government to the upcoming Brussels Conference, since Japan is one of the top donor to Afghan reconstruction. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie of Afghanistan expressed his appreciation, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to Japan and EU for their tremendous support and assistance to the country in a wide range of sectors. Additionally, H.E. Dr. Fatimie stated that Afghanistan is at its juncture point regarding the security and development process under the threat of terrorist networks. Therefore, strong commitments from the international community is much needed, and Afghanistan especially expects that Japan play a leading role.

Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie in attending the seminar "The
Role of EU and NATO for Japan's Security -Chances and Opportunities for
Japan Due to Complementary Roles of EU and NATO-" organized by Konrad
Adenauer Stiftung. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had a pleasure in
communicating with Dr. Stephan Grabherr, Minister & Deputy Head of
Mission of the embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Japan, and
Dr. Beatrice Gorawantschy, Director at Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, who
both respectively had presented their opening remarks at the beginning
of the seminar.
The seminar aimed to grasp the current conditions and options for
European Union and North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Asia-Pacific
region, specifically focused on the relation with Japan and its security

H.E. 4/03/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Welcomes the Embassy Visit by Japan Women's University attached High School
March 4, 2016: It was a pleasure for His Excellency Ambassador
Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie in welcoming the visit by 36 students
and 4 teachers from Japan Women's University attached High School at the
embassy. The high school and the university have organized years of
their exchange program between Afghanistan, the group visited the
embassy as a part of their study. Though, it was the first time for them
to visit the embassy with such a number of the participants.
Mr. Abdulzaman Akbari, Third secretary, made an opening remark to
welcome the students and teachers. It was followed by a presentation
regarding Afghanistan, and question-and-answer session, which the
students actively took part in asking or commenting based on their
impression and what they had studied of Afghanistan.
Subsequently, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie invited all visitors to his
office. In his message to the students directly, H.E. Dr. Fatimie
warmly welcomed everyone, and expressed his wish and hope that the visit
will contribute to peaceful and successful future for every one of the
students, for both countries Afghanistan and Japan, as well as the
world. In return, one of the students expressed her appreciation, by
representing the visiting group, for H.E. Ambassador's encouraging words
and the embassy's great hospitality. Then, the group was given the

speech, he briefed on the recent regional security developments, and
issues eyeing the security legislation enactment soon as well as the new
defense guideline. The seminar was attended by a large number of the
diplomatic missions.
1/03/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Hosts a Lunch Reception for PEACE Graduation
March 1st, 2016: It was the pleasure for His Excellency
Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie of hosting a lunch reception
for scholarship graduates at the embassy in Tokyo. 33 graduates who had
studied in Japan under Japan International Cooperation Agency project
called PEACE program.
In his opening remark, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie extended his
gratitude to the Government of Japan and related offices, on behalf of
people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for
providing comprehensive, sustainable and impact generating assistance to
the country with such a precious opportunity for Afghan youth. H.E. Dr.
Fatimie also expressed to graduates his congratulations, and encouraged
them that their home country is awaiting their earned knowledge and
skills to be utilized.
Mr. Katsumi Moriyasu, Director of Afghanistan Assistance Planning
Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, made a remark. He
expressed his congratulations by representing Japanese Foreign Ministry
to all the graduates, and wished their experience be fully helpful for
their country's reconstruction.
Among the participating graduates, Mr. Gulbuddin Gulab and Mr.
Mohammad Reza Ghulami made their speech respectively, to express their
appreciation for the education and spoke of their aspiration to apply
their earned knowledge when returning to Afghanistan.
It was followed by 4 other graduates' presentation of their thesis
summaries: Mr. Osama Hidayat "Sustainable Neighborhood Design Criteria
for Afghan Cities: Revising the Basis of Planning a New Type of
Progress"; Mr. Shams Hayat Khan "Studies on Efficient Use of Irrigation
Water in Afghanistan"; Mr. Jamal Abdul Naser Shokory "Climate Change
Impact on Water Resources in Kabul River Basin" and Mr. Mohammad Reza
Qasemi "The Contribution of Track Two Diplomacy to Promoting Peace Talks
with the Taliban: The Case of the Pugwash Initiatives on Afghanistan."
Afghan dishes were served, and for their achievements, the certificate
of completion were given to all graduates from the embassy and JICA
respectively.

28/02/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends the 3rd Annual Afghan Kite Festival
February 28th, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad
Amin Fatimie had a great pleasure in attending the 3rd annual Afghan
Kite Festival, which was jointly organized by the Embassy of Afghanistan
in Japan, Japan-Afghanistan Association and Nittai Ebara High School.
The event was honored to have the attendance of distinguished guests
such as the Honorable Mr. Kenshiro Matsunami, president of
Japan-Afghanistan Association and Nippon Sport Science University Group;
Mr. Kozo Oh'ishi, principal of Nittai Ebara High School; and many
others.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie made an opening remark that it was his
great pleasure that Afghanistan and Japan exchange a cultural activity
of both countries, to know and feel closer to each others. In addition,
appreciation letters were presented by H.E. Dr. Fatimie to Nittai Ebara
High School's baseball team, Japan Kite Association and Smile Kamata
(community sports association of Kamata district), for their continuous
support and dedication to the Afghan Kite Festival since it's initiation
in 2014.
The event was attended by over 300 visitors and some 100 supporters
under such a beautiful sunny and warm day. It was highly successful with
the record number of attendance of whom enjoyed the inter-cultural
exchange between Afghanistan and Japan, especially among youth to
experience a part of Afghanistan. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the
pleasure of meeting with the organizing executives, officials of the
supporting institutions, the schools related to Afghanistan. Among them,
H.E. Dr. Fatimie also met with Mr. Takashi Honda, Deputy Director of
Afghanistan Assistance Planning Division of Japanese Foreign Ministry;
Mr. Akira Kudo, Kudan Lions Club; Mr. Soichiro Kuboniwa from Political
News Department, and Mr. Keiji Ohara from City News Department of The
Yomiuri Shimbun.

and individuals for making such a precious occasion possible to happen:
