Meeting with H.E. Ms. Seiko Noda.

April 10, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat of hosting a warm and friendly meeting wih H.E. Ms. Seiko Noda, Member of the House of Representatives and the former Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, Minister in charge of Women's Empowerment, and Minister of State for the Social Security and Tax Number System, at the Embassy in Tokyo. Also in attendance were Dr. Takao Toda, Vice President for Human Security and Global Health, JICA, Mr. Tatsuya Ashida, Director, Health Group 2, Human Development Department, JICA, and Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary for the Embassy of Afghanistan in Tokyo.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat warmly welcomed H.E. Ms. Seiko Noda, who is not only a long time personal friend but also a longtime friend of the Embassy and Afghanistan. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed, on behalf of people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, deep appreciation to the Japanese government for its continuing support of Afghanistan’s reconstruction process which is paving the way for increased greater livelihood, peace and prosperity for the Afghan people. Additionally, he expressed his humble happiness at being able to again receive a true friend of Afghanistan, and such an honorable guest, here at the Embassy.Most importantly, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked H.E. Ms. Seiko Noda for helping to introduce Japanese Taxation System and establishing the system for obtaining proper certification (Certified Public Tax Accountant) to Afghanistan.

In return, H.E. Ms. Seiko Noda expressed her sincere gratitude for the kind words as well as for the invitation to H.E. Ambassador Mohabbat. She assured him both personally and professionally that she would do all in her capacity to make sure Japan continued to stand by Afghanistan, as it is a place very near to her heart, well into the future. Additionally, Dr. Toda and Mr. Ashida briefed and discussed regarding Japan’s help and assistance through it’s program to eliminate Polio and Tuberculosis diseases in Afghanistan. All present discussed many topics of mutual interest such as the long history of Afghan-Japanese Relations in a very friendly atmosphere.
