March 17, 2016:His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the pleasure and honor to visit Japan International Cooperation Agency’s Headquarters and meet with President Mr. Shinichi Kitaoka. Mr. M. Yasir Karimi (Second secretary) and Mr. Abdulzaman Akbari (Third secretary) were also present at the meeting. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie first congratulated Mr. Kitaoka on the appointment as JICA’s President, and expressed his wishes for him to be successful as the head of the important organization. H.E. Dr. Fatimie added his appreciation, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, JICA for having conducted a number of reconstruction projects in Afghanistan for reconstruction over the years, and noted that people in Afghanistan now live a longer, healthier and happier life as a positive result of their projects. Further, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie extended his wish that JICA continue their projects in the country, and assured them the government of Afghanistan will cooperate in implementing them. In return, Mr. Kitaoka welcomed H.E. Dr. Fatimie and his kind words. As Afghanistan’s reconstruction is crucial not only for themselves but also for the worldwide community, Mr. Kitaoka said he has closely observed the projects in Afghanistan, and wished to continue their projects there.
In his speech, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his gratitude, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to the Government of Japan for offering the young generation the opportunity to brighten their future. H.E. Dr. Fatimie congratulated the participants for their excellent presentations, which proved that they had very fruitful time during the program, and encouraged all the participants to utilize the experience to further promote the peace, prosperity and friendship not only for their own country, but also for between each other in the region and for the world. H.E. Ambassador further had the pleasure of communicating with the embassy staff from the participating countries which attended as well as other participants.
