July 11, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to host an event opportunity of giving an Afghanistan presentation and reception for Active Middle International Association guests at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo, Japan.

Guests of Active Middle International Association were greeted with welcoming remarks by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat who welcomed them to the embassy and encouraged them to learn all they could about the wonderful country of Afghanistan. Further, they were given a delightful and informative presentation on Afghanistan’s history, culture, natural resources, and progress by Embassy Staff member Mr. Ashraf Baburi.

Following their presentation on Afghanistan, the guests were treated to a special dinner of various Afghan traditional foods carefully prepared by the embassy in honor of the occasion.

At the completion of the meal, the guests were invited to Participate in a quiz game about Afghanistan and awarded various prizes of Afghan dried fruits, nuts, and saffron. All those present had an enjoyable time and remarked at how impressed they were with their new introduction to the wonders of Afghanistan.

February 1, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the “Reception to Introduce Kyoto Culture and Charm” hosted by the Hon. Mr. Daisaku Kadokawa, Mayor of Kyoto City, at the famous Happo-en in Tokyo.

On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed sincere gratitude for the steadfast and benevolent support by the noble people and Government of Japan over the years to Hon. Mayor Kadokawa. Further, he intimated his wishes that the people of Kyoto would benefit well form this grand event and thanked Hon. Mayor Kadokawa for the invitation to taste and experience all the best of Kyoto. In return, Hon. Mayor Kadokawa thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his very kind words, his attendance at the event, and assured him that the people of Kyoto would continue to support Afghanistan and wish her all the best success as she strived for peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process.

January 27, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend a reception for the H.E. Ms. Seiko Noda, Member of the House of Representatives and the former Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, Minister in charge of Women's Empowerment, and Minister of State for the Social Security and Tax Number System, in Gifu Prefecture.

Not only is H.E. Ms. Noda a long time personal friends of H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat but she is also a longtime friend of Afghanistan. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked H.E. Ms. Noda for the invitation to the event during his time in Gifu Prefecture as well as expressed, on behalf of people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, deep appreciation to the Japanese government through H.E. Ms. Noda for its continuing support of Afghanistan’s reconstruction process which is paving the way for increased greater livelihood, peace and prosperity for the Afghan people in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process.

In return, H.E. Ms. Noda thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance the event, for his kind words, as well as assured that she would see to it that Japan would continue to stand by Afghanistan well into the future, most particularly as the Afghan people hold a special place in her heart. January 18, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the reception and training seminar hosted by Hon. Mr. Makita Shimokawa, Deputy Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, at the Mita Kagisho reception hall in Tokyo.

This reception was held in order to conjointly serve as a networking reception and a training seminar for members of missions and the officials of the local governments. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting with the host, Hon. Deputy Vice-Minister Shimokawa to whom he expressed gratitude for hosting the networking and training event. Further, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, he thanked the noble and friendly people and Government of Japan for their steadfast and benevolent support of Afghanistan over the years on its quest for redevelopment as well as its cooperation as it continues to work for peace in and Afghan-own and Afghan-led peacebuilding process.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat took the opportunity to extend his deepest gratitude, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic Afghanistan, to the Kingdom and H.M., through Mr. Mohammed Fuad N. Justaniah, to wish sincerest congratulations on this most auspicious day. As Saudi Arabia has lent generous and significant support as well as regional cooperation to Afghanistan in the peace process over the years, and serves as a beacon for the Islamic world holding custodianship of the Two Holy Mosques, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat further conveyed his hope that the Kingdom would see another year of peace and prosperity, his wishes for the welfare of the people of the country, and his desire that the two nations would continue grow closer. September 15, 2017: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the “Networking Event” reception celebration by Alumni of Chukyo University at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo.

As an alumnus of Chukyo University, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat was again invited to the reception. The university, established 64 years ago, initially had only one department – Commerce. But currently has 11 undergraduate departments and 11 graduate level research courses, including professional schools of law and business. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure to meet with Dr. Kiyohide Umemura, Chancellor Chairman of Chukyo University to whom he extended his thanks to for hosting the successful event. He thanked the event planner for his kind and very thorough welcoming and the care he received when he was student at Chukyo as the first foreign student of the university. Moreover, he intimated just how proud he was of the invaluable education he received for the institution that holds so dear a place in his heart, which through their all-encompassing, high-caliber training he is certain it helped to bring him to where he is in life. In return, Dr. Uemura thanked him for his attendance and for giving his kind words, further remarking how proud they were of H.E. Dr. Mohabbat as the university’s first Ambassador Alumnus. While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of speaking with many of his fellow alumni of the university who were in attendance to network with former classmates at the event.

March 23, 2018: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor of attending the reception of “Hokkaido－Nature, Culture and Cuisine” held at the Iikura Guest House of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting with Governor of Hokkaido, Honorable Mr. Harumi Takahashi; and Deputy of Middle Eastern and African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, His Excellency Mr. Katsuhiko Takahashi, at this reception that highlighted Hokkaido’s various delights. Also in attendance were several of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, members of the parliament, and other dignified guests with whom H.E. Dr. Mohabbat discussed topics of mutual interest.

August 30, 2017:　His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor and pleasure of attending the reception celebrating the Turkish Victory Day at the Embassy of Turkey in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed his congratulations for this most auspicious occasion, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to H.E. Mr. Ahmet Bülent Meriç, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Japan and Military Attache Captain (N) Isa Murat Akarsu. In return, H.E. Mr. Meriç thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and attendance as well congratulated him on his recent appointment as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Japan, hoping to make more profound the very strong ties between their two countries. In response, H.E. DR. Mohabbat thanked H.E. Mr. Meriç for his kind words and commented on the historically close and brotherly relationship between the two great nations, assuring him that he would also work to deepen and strengthen their close relations.

Additionally, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the opportunity to meet and converse with Mr. Katsuhiko Takahashi, Deputy Director-General, Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau about several topics of mutual interest including Japan’s support of the Chabahar Port project, and the recent speeches by leaders of allied nations planning for active steps to achieving further peace and security in Afghanistan. He also had the pleasure of meeting with several of Their Excellencies Ambassadors and members of diplomatic missions stationed in Tokyo, high ranking members of Parliament, and notable members of Japan’s business sector with whom he discussed many topics of mutual interest.

August 25, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the pleasure and honor of attending a reception to celebrate the 72nd Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. The reception was held at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.

During the reception, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat took the opportunity to extend a deep congratulations, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to the Republic of Indonesia, through His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Arifin Tasrif, on this most auspicious day. As Indonesia has continued to express commitment to support and assist the rebuilding Afghanistan in various sectors, including technical training infrastructure, women’s empowerment, higher education, and diplomat training, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat conveyed his hope for the continued welfare of the Indonesian people, peace and prosperity of the Republic, and his desire to foster stronger relations between the two great nations. In return, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Tasrif thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for attending the event as well as for his kind words. He congratulated Afghanistan’s people and Government for their concerted their efforts to effectively promote progress and further democracy. Additionally he noted that their two countries have shared long and warm relations and that with all sincerity he hoped that they would work together to extend and deepen them.

H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with H.E. Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister of Japan, and long time friend of Afghanistan H.E. Mr. Natsuo Yamaguchi, President of the Komeito party with whom he discussed several topics of mutual interest. He also met with several of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors with missions in Japan, many diplomats, high ranking members of Parliament, and notable members of Japan’s business sector with whom he discussed many topics of mutual interest.

August 2, 2017: Mr. Ahmad Bashir Ghafoori, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, had the pleasure of attending the reception in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the International Criminal Court held at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo. This reception was co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Embassy of the Netherlands, and the International Criminal Court.

Mr. Ghafoori had the pleasure of meeting and discussing with many distinguished guests, His Excellency Mr. Aart Jacobi, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Japan in particular. Mr. Ghafoori thanked deeply H.E. Ambassador Mr. Jacobi for hosting and inviting him to such wonderful event. In return, H.E. Mr. Jacobi thanked Mr. Ghafoori for his kind words and attendance. Mr. Ghafoori met with Honorable Judge Ms. Kuniko Ozaki, Vice-President of the International Criminal Court, who Mr. Ghafoori expressed his congratulations on this occasion on behalf of the Embassy of Afghanistan.
