Meeting with H.E. Mr. Masahiro Mikami

November 29, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honour and pleasure of meeting with His Excellency Mr. Masahiro Mikami, Director-General of the International Legal Affairs Bureau. Also in attendance was Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary and Political Affairs of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan.

H.E. Director-General Mr. Mikami warmly welcomed H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat and Mr. Hamdard. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked H.E. Mr. Mikami for his warm welcomes. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat gave H.E. Mr. Mikami an up-to-date progress of Afghanistan, under the National Unity Government, where there has been rapid development since 2002, both economically and politically. Further, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat said that as Japan-Afghanistan relations go back for centuries making the two countries relationship quite profound, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan he would like to express heartfelt appreciation and thanks for the noble nation of Japan’s steadfast support and friendship and his sincerest hopes for a deepening and strengthening of their ties. In return, H.E. Mr. Mikami assured H.E. Dr. Mohabbat that Japan will continue the support to maintain the rapid developments in Afghanistan. Following the meeting, H.E. Mr. Mikami and H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed their sincerest gratitude and optimism for the future of our two great nations.
