Luncheon with LFEC members at the Embassy of Afghanistan
November 13, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor and pleasure of hosting a luncheon with LFEC (Ladies of the International Friendship Exchange Council) members at the Embassy of Afghanistan. Mr. Ahmad Bashir Ghafoori, First Secretary and Consul; Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary; Mr. Asif Agah, Second Secretary; and Mr. Abdulzaman Akbari, Third Secretary were also present. Around thirty distinguished guests from LFEC attended the luncheon.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat began the event by giving a speech in which he extended his most gracious welcome to all those in attendance and thanked them for coming. Hirokyuki Yushita, Senior Managing Director, Ms. Ayako Kuki, Board Chairperson of LFEC, and Ms. Toshiko Komura, Board Member gave speeches in which they stressed the importance of cross-cultural communication and understanding in order to achieve global peace and stability. Following the speeches, Mr. Ashraf Baburi, Accounting Affairs for the Embassy, gave a greatly received presentation on the rich, ancient history and culture of Afghanistan. Throughout the event, guests also enjoyed traditional Afghan food prepared by the Embassy’s chef.
