Attendance at the Imagine One World Kimono Party

November 23, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the pleasure of attending the Imagine One World Kimono Party at Mitsui Hall. Also in attendance were Mr. Yuki Takeda, Secretary, and Ms. Allyson Diaz, Public Relations Officer.
The party was a show and exhibition of the kimonos of Australia, Micronesia, Thailand, Sweden, Denmark, Mali, Kiribati, Switzerland, and Afghanistan. The Afghan kimono was given the honour of being displayed last as the pièce de résistance. The kimono was painstakingly designed and crafted by Ms. Tamae Ueda, with the supervision of Ms. Orie Shimizu, and the help in research by Senior intern of the Afghan Embassy, Ms. Erina Kondo, who was also the model for the Afghan kimono.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of speaking with His Excellency Mr. Manlio Cadelo, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Most Serene Republic of San Marino and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps of Japan, and Mrs. Camara Marietou Diarra, Chargé d’ Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the Republic of Mali. They talked about the beautiful and amazingly designed kimonos, and H.E. Mr. Cadelo and Mrs. Diarra congratulated H.E. Dr. Moahhabat for having the honour of the pièce de résistance. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also spoke with Ms. Tamae Ueda, Mr. Yoshimasa Takakura, founder of Imagine One World Kimono Project, Mr. Nobumichi Tejima, Manager of Imagine One World Kimono Project, and Ms. Orie Shimizu. He congratulated everyone for the successful and magnificent event, and thanked them for their painstaking effort and dedication in world cooperation and peace. In return, they thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words, and his cooperation with the Kimono Project. They further discussed topics of mutual interest.
