Speech on the “Role of Education in Afghanistan Today” at the Charity Party hosted by Individual Members of the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan
November 10, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor and pleasure of giving a speech on the “Role of Education in Afghanistan Today” at the Charity Party hosted by Individual Members of the National Federation of UNESCO Association in Japan in commemoration of the “30th Anniversary of Our Education for All—Past and Future” at the International House of Japan. He was warmly greeted and escorted around by Prof. Uji Suzuki, Director General of the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan.
In his speech, H.E, Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed his sincere gratitude, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for many contributions from the Japanese people and Government and their unwavering support of Afghanistan’s development. Furthermore, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked UNESCO for its support and protection of historically significant Afghan landmarks and the preservation of a rich and ancient culture. He also further informed them of the substantial progress in the realms of women's participation in education and government. The event was well attended and all present enjoyed the presentation.
