Introduction Party of the New President of the Middle East Institute of Japan

November 20, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor and pleasure of attending the party to introduce the new President of the Middle East Institute of Japan, Mr. Akitaka Saiki, Former Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs. Also in attendance was First Secretary, Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat extended his best wishes on this auspicious day to Mr. Akitaka. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also expressed his interest in promoting a correct understanding of the region and its affairs among the Japanese public and promoting friendship between the Japanese people and the peoples of the Middle East. In response, Mr. Akitaka expressed his mutual desire to continue to address the situation on behalf of the Middle East Institute of Japan with research and publication activities covering the region’s politics, economy, religion, culture and history. His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Hiroshi Oka, Director-General of Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, also gave a speech that H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of listening to.

H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with several of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors with missions in Japan, many diplomats, members of Parliament, and notable members of Japan’s business sector with whom he discussed various topics of mutual interest.
