Attendance at the Open Seminar: “The Bridge to the Future from Chubu- From Afghanistan to Japan and from Japan to Afghanistan.”
November 25, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor and pleasure of attending the JICA Seminar titled: “The Bridge to the Future from Chubu- From Afghanistan to Japan and from Japan to Afghanistan,” at the JICA Chubu Centre. Also in attendance was Mr. Asif Agah, Second Secretary.
On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat extended his utmost thanks, appreciation, and gratitude for Japan’s continuous noble and unwavering dedication and support in his opening remarks. Following H.E. Dr. Mohabbat’s speech, JICA gave a power point presentation about the project for Promotion and Enhancement for the Afghan Capacity for Effective development (PEACE Project). JICA extended their best wishes to the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and expressed their sincere hope for Afghanistan's success in its continuing path toward peace and sustainable development with an emphasis on capacity building. More than 20 Afghan students attended the reception, a few of which presented their Master’s Theses.
H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with several high ranking officials from JICA Chubu, JICA Tokyo, and JICE, and also met with Afghan students and Japanese nationals. At the reception following the seminar, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat met with Mr. Noriji Sakakura, Director General of JICA Chubu International Center; Ms. Yukiko Nishikawa, Professor of Graduate School of International Development, Nagoya University; Mr. Masahiko Takizawa, Senior Director of University Partnership Division, Domestic Strategy and Partnership Department; and Mr. Makoto Iwase, Director of Training Program Division, JICA Chubu International Center, to whom he thanked for hosting this wonderful seminar.
