June 13, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the great pleasure and honor to attend the reception in commemoration of the 118th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence and the 60th Anniversary of the Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between Philippines and Japan. As the non-resident Afghan representative to Republic of Philippines, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his congratulations, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to H.E. Ambassador Mr. Manuel M. Lopez of Philippines. In return, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Lopez expressed his appreciation to H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie, of his attendance and kind words, ensuring to maintain and better the relationship between Philippines and Afghanistan.
The reception was honored with so many attending Members of Diet such as former Prime Ministers, diplomatic personnel and officials including Their Excellencies Ambassadors, high ranking distinguished guests from various sectors. Among them, H.E. Dr. Fatimie had an honor and pleasure in meeting with H.E. Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister; H.E. Mr. Gen Nakatani, Minister of Defense; Honorable Mr. Kenji Kosaka, Member of the House of Councillors, and former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; Honorable Mr. Hirotaka Ishihara, Member of the House of Councillors, and former Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs; Lt. Gen. Yoshinari Marumo, Vice Chief of Staff, Japan Air Self-Defense Force; and Mr. Kengo Chiba, Chairman of Kokka Keibi (K-IPC) K.K. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his appreciation for Japan's continued assistance and amicable relationship with Afghanistan, and discussed with Their Excellencies the issues of mutual interest, including the recent development in Afghanistan.
