June 8, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie and Madam Wahida Fatimie had the great honor and pleasure of welcoming and accompanying Their Imperial Majesties, the Emperor and Empress of Japan, during their visit to the “Hidden Treasures Exhibition” being held at the Tokyo National Museum. Minister-Counsellor Dr. Bashir Mohabbat was also present as the official translator, along with other embassy diplomats. The Imperial couple were intrigued and fascinated by the ancient artifacts from the National Museum of Kabul that were displayed in the exhibit, further engaging their interest in the rich history of Afghanistan and refreshing memories from their trip to the nation in 1971 as then-Their Majesties the Crown Prince and Crown Princess.

Earlier this year the exhibition made a 7-week appearance at the Kyushu National Museum, in Fukouka, Japan, where it also received tremendous praise. Having left a powerful impact on the people of Japan and bringing such positive awareness to Japan-Afghanistan relations, the “Hidden Treasures Exhibition” will finally leave Tokyo on June 19th.
