Courtesy Call on Madam Sadako Ogata
September 21, 2017: His Excellency Dr. Basir Mohabbat, Ambassador at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan, and Mr. Ahmad Bashir Ghafoori, First Secretary and Consul, had the honor and pleasure of calling a courtesy call on Honourable Madam Sadako Ogata, former president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Research Institute, at the JICA Research Centre.
H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed his gratitude to JICA for its contributions to Afghanistan and expressed his deep appreciation for the important role that Madame Ogata has played in JICA and her efforts to promote peace and betterment of the lives of ordinary Afghans in all facets including the areas of education, economy, and agriculture in Afghanistan. During Madam Ogata's tenure as the President of JICA, the PEACE program was developed which is and has been vital to Afghanistan's human capacity building. Madame Ogata also expressed her gratitude to the Afghan people and government for their friendship and cooperation, and shared her warm feelings for the country. Subsequently, they discussed many other topics of mutual interests.
