Opening of the Afghan Photo Exhibition in Collaboration with Minato City
September 7, 2017: Mr. Asif Agah, Second Secretary and Head of Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan, had the honor and pleasure of opening the new Afghanistan photo exhibit in collaboration with Minato City's Ms. Narumi Seino, Director of Global Community and Art and Culture Planning Department of Minato City, Ms. Akiyo Fujinuma, Foreign Resident’s Consultant for the City of Minato, at Minato Park Shibaura. Also in attendance from the Afghan Embassy were Ms. Allyson Diaz, Public Relations Officer, and Mr. Ashraf Baburi, Accounting Affairs Officer, and many of the interns. The exhibit, entitled “From the Heart of Asia: the enduring spirit of Afghanistan’s people”, features stunning photography by Afghan artists and showcases the bright aspects of life throughout the blossoming nation of Afghanistan, which has made tremendous progress in recent years. Other Embassy staff members and interns also had the privilege of attending this exciting event.
The opening ceremony began with remarks by Ms. Narumi Seino who enthusiastically praised and congratulated the work of the Afghan photographers featured in the exhibit, as well as thanking the Embassy staff for their collaboration with the City of Minato. Following Ms. Seino’s kind words, Mr. Asif Agah thanked Ms. Seino for her sincere and friendly remarks and reciprocally thanked the City of Minato for collaborating with the Embassy of Afghanistan. After exchanging courtesies, those in attendance took photos together and had the opportunity to enjoy and discuss the art on display.
This free-of-charge exhibit will run from Thursday, September 7th, 2017, until Monday, September 18th, 2017, and will debut at Minato Park Shibaura, 1-16-1 – 1F Shibaura.
