great pleasure of meeting with the esteemed Ambassador of Canada, His
Excellency Mr. Mackenzie Clugston, at the Canadian Embassy for an
important meeting to further strengthen the friendly relations shared
between the two countries. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie, on behalf of the
people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan,
communicated his deep gratitude for the many sacrifices Canada has made
and for Canada's ongoing vital support, with which without, many of the
freedom's and achievements in the country relating to democracy, health,
education, security and the empowerment of women, would not have been

28/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Welcomes the New Mission of H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Ahmad Izlan
April 28, 2015: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie warmly welcomed His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Ahmad Izlan and congratulated him on his new mission as the Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan. The friendly relationship between Afghanistan and Malaysia was one of the main topics of the meeting. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie appreciated the past support from Malaysia during the Afghanistan-Soviet Union conflict. In return, H.E. Ambassador Izlan mentioned how Afghanistan is taking an important role in the Organization of Islamic Conference at the moment and as a bridge between Europe and Asia.
According to the USGS report, Afghanistan is extremely rich in natural resources. Thankfully, H.E. Ambassador Izlan stated during the meeting that he will make a proposal when he goes back to Malaysia, to invest in Afghanistan’s natural resources. In addition, he mentioned about the peace negotiations going on at the moment and gave confidence that, with the help of neighbors, Afghanistan can achieve a successful outcome.

27/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Welcomes Architect Mrs. Saita
April 27, 2015: Mrs. Saita used to work with PDSystem Corporation, which designed the present premises of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Tokyo. She was one of the main members of the team to complete the reconstruction. She is now working as an independent architect.
Since Mrs. Saita and Ms. Suzuki happened to be in the neighborhood of the Embassy, they decided to see the Embassy from the outside. Then the former was noticed by one of the Embassy personnel and invited to come inside and they were warmly welcomed by His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie who, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, expressed his appreciation to her for the wonderful work she had done.
Mrs. Saita was very happy to come inside the Embassy and was pleased to see that the Embassy had been beautifully maintained. She said that her experience being involved in the design and reconstruction of the Embassy helped a great deal for the learning and growth of her career path. She really appreciated the warm welcome by the Embassy.

April 24, 2015: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and Ambassadress Fatimie had the rare honor and privilege of accepting an invitation from the Imperial Household Agency to be guests at a Gagaku concert in the Imperial Palace East Garden. Attended by His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito and Her Imperial Highness Princess Hisako of Takamado, the delights of traditional Japanese classical music were fully enjoyed. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the great pleasure of meeting with distinguished individuals such as the Grand Master of Ceremonies and the Master of Ceremonies of the Imperial Household Agency Mr. Chikao Kawai and Mr. Koji Abe respectively. H.E. April 23, 2015: Afghan cuisine boasts tantalizing vitality and a unique blend of influences from around the world. As Zahir-ud-din Muhammad Babur said 500 years ago, “Kabul is the meeting point of East and West, South and North”. Such a reality is richly expressed in Afghanistan's many regional and national dishes and it was a great honor for His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and Ambassadress Fatimie to share a lunch showcasing Afghan cuisine with Mainichi Shimbun journalists Rika Sakai and Robert Sakai-Irvine as part of their project "Embassy Eats".
The vision behind Embassy Eats is to use food as a means of accessing and understanding another culture. Food is used to pick peoples’ intrigue about other countries. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie used this valuable opportunity to promote Afghan culture and history and provide another aspect of the country, which the Japanese public will view when the lunch is featured in a full-length article by Mainichi Shimbun and is expected to receive about 48,000 readers per week plus many more from schools, universities, organisations and NGOs.

23/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Meets Chairman Nikai at LDP Headquarters
April 23, 2015: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the
honor of traveling to the headquarters of Japan's ruling Liberal
Democratic party in order to meet with the Chairman of the General
Council of the LDP, The Honorable Mr. Toshihiro Nikai, to facilitate the
reenactment of the highly significant and influential Afghan-Japan
Parliamentary Friendship League.
In tandem with long time friend of Afghanistan and President of the
Educational Foundation of Nippon Sport Science University Group the
esteemed Mr. Kenshiro Matsunami, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie started the
required formalities and provided information for renewing the
Afghan-Japan Parliamentary Friendship League, which will act to ensure
close ties are further strengthened at the highest levels of government
between the two countries through increased communication, understanding

April 22, 2015: The successful achievement of foreign investment
and foreign economic activity in Afghanistan is one of the most
fundamental pillars for facilitating the country's integration into
regional and global markets. With the goal of contributing to the
accomplishment of such a vital goal, His Excellency Ambassador Dr.
Fatimie proactively participated in the Cooperation Council for the Arab
States of the Gulf's "Days In Japan" seminar. After GCC Secretary
General His Excellency Dr. Adbul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani's and the
Manager of Gas Development for Qatar Petroleum the distinguished Mr.
Khalid Mohaammad Al-Hitmi's speeches, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie
created many opportunities to lay foundations for future foreign
economic involvement in Afghanistan.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie gave briefings, including to the Special
Assistant to the Minister for Foreign Affairs as Ambassador for the Gulf
Cooperation Council and the Gulf region the esteemed Mr. Shigeru Endo
and Senior Adviser for the Organisation for Small and Medium Enterprises
and Regional Development the distinguished Mr. Tamotsu Tomiyama,
regarding Afghanistan's huge potential in mining which can be realized
with appropriate levels of investment. Invitations were offered to

The opportunity was also taken by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie to

April 22, 2015: Afghanistan has been benefiting from the
increasingly robust relations it shares with both major parties in
Japanese politics and it was with the goal of further strengthening such
ties that His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie attended the
opposition's Cafe Democrats exchange forum. Opening remarks were made by
the DPJ's Director General of the Internal Department The Honorable Mr.
Yukihisa Fujita, which was followed by the Chair of the Diet Committee
The Honorable Mr. Yoshiaki Takaki speaking regarding the DPJ's agenda
over the coming months. Moderated by member of the House of Councillors

April 22, 2015: Palestine is a key focal point in global
consciousness and Afghanistan always does its utmost to support its
Palestinian brothers and sisters. As a world power, Japan has global
influence and His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie spent considerable
time persisting to assist Palestine when attending a ceremony to
commemorate the start of the mission of Japan's Ambassador to Palestine
His Excellency Mr. Takeshi Okubo, who previously served with the highest

16/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Meets With Japan's Representative to the ADB
April 16, 2015: Japan plays the leading role in the Asia
Development Bank being the largest single country donor, having the
largest percentage of voting power for a single country and has held the
institution's Presidency since its inception in 1966. Therefore, His
Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie's meeting with the ADB's
representative to Japan, the esteemed Mr. Tomoni Tamaki, was a highly
important occasion in relation to garnering continued international
support for Afghanistan's continued development.
Through the ADB, Japan has contributed significantly to numerous
projects and programs involving Afghanistan including the Central Asia
Regional Economic Cooperation Program, the Afghan Rail System, the
four-lane expressway connecting Kabul and Peshawar through Jalalabad,
and the much anticipated Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline, which are not only
vital for Afghanistan but also for the broader region and indeed the

"Hidden Treasures From The National Museum of Afghanistan" exhibition at

14/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Visits Mayor of Hiratsuka City
April 14, 2015: As Japan is a vital partner in Afghanistan's
ongoing socio-economic development, the Embassy has been working
fastidiously to further enhance Afghanistan's relations within all
levels of Japan's political apparatus. His Excellency Ambassador Dr.
Fatimie and Third Secretary Mr. Sayed Ali Asghar Amiri's meeting with
the Mayor and Vice Mayors of Hiratsuka City, Their Honors Mr. Ochiai
Katsuhiro, Mr. Yasuo Kigawa, and Mr. Yoshiaki Suzuki respectevely, is an
example of such efforts.
After receiving a warm welcome from the Mayor and all staff, H.E.
Ambassador Dr. Fatimie proceeded to, on behalf of the people and
Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, communicate his
gratitude to the people and Government of Hiratsuka City for their vital
and substantial involvement in ensuring Afghans are healthier, freer,

14/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Meets With Afghan Students at Tokai University
April 14, 2015: Meeting with nineteen hard working and
responsible Afghan students of various fields at Tokai University was a
proud moment for His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie who congratulated
them on the Solar New Year as well as for their academic achievements.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and Third Secretary Mr. Sayed Ali Asghar
Amiri spent an hour speaking and listening to their Afghan brothers
about their concerns and joys regarding their life in Japan, which has
overall been a highly satisfying experience thus far. Also discussed
were ways and means of how to improve student's contact with the
Embassy. The assiduous Mr. Malakyar spoke on behalf of the students and
thanked H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and Mr. Amiri for coming to visit
and speaking and listening to them.
Tokai University boasts ten faculties, including Medicine and
Agriculture, and is playing an important role in the training and
development of Afghanistan's future professionals. By visiting these
nineteen diligent students, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie recognizes their
importance for the future of their communities, and the Afghan nation
as a whole, and encourages each of his brothers to make the very most of
the privileged opportunity they have been given. The Embassy will do
its best to support them during their time away from home in Japan.

April 09, 2015: With two Afghan students attending Kashiwa Nittai
High School and robust relations enjoyed between the school, His
Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie was given the honor of presenting a
speech at a ceremony to commemorate the commencement of the new academic
year in front of Japan's Minister of Education, Culture, Sports,
Science and Technology Senior Vice Minister His Excellency Mr. Yoshitaka
Sakurada, the school's Chairman and long time friend of Afghanistan the
esteemed Mr. Kenshiro Matsunami, President Seiji Suzuki, teachers and
students from Japan and Pakistan, Mongolia, Tonga and DR Congo.
In further recognition of the school and the broader community's respect
that has been achieved for Afghanistan in recent years, the National
Anthem of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was also proudly played
and the national flag was paraded and place at the center of the stage.

April 9, 2015: It was a great honor for His Excellency Ambassador
Dr. Fatimie to welcome NPO Save the Asian Monument’s Representatives
Mr. Shinichi Nakayama and Mr. Tony Takahashi. Mr. Nakayama and Mr.
Takahashi are intending to visit Hada Museum in Afghanistan for
inspection on monument sites and Buddhist heritage, with the intention
of conducting a preservation project of these great treasures. H.E.
Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his appreciation toward such support
and promised further cooperation which will most likely to be conducted
in October.

9/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends Kenyan Condolence Book Signing Ceremony
April 09, 2015: The people and Government of Afghanistan condemn,
in the strongest of terms, all forms of terrorism regardless of where
in the world it presents itself and it was with this conviction that His
Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie, on behalf of the people and
Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, extended his deepest
condolences and utmost outrage at the barbaric attack which killed 147
precious lives in Garissa on the 2nd of April. At the condolence book
signing ceremony, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie noted that the cowards who
committed the despicable act of terrorism were no different to the
terrorists who murdered some fifty young people at a volleyball game in
November last year in Paktika Province and that Afghanistan stands
united with the people and Government of Kenya in sorrow and in the
fight to rid the world of extremism.

April 08, 2015: Hosted by His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Bruce
James Ross Miller at the Australian Embassy and attended by Her Imperial
Highness Princess Takamado, Japan through Diplomats' Eyes is an
important event each year on the diplomatic calendar. In what was
symbolic of Afghanistan's increasingly warm relations with The Imperial
Family of Japan which have been nurtured in recent years and despite the
presence of more than sixty Ambassadors, Her Imperial Highness Princess
Takamado spent significant time with His Excellency Ambassador Dr.
Fatimie and demonstrated a great interest in and was very positive
regarding the resent developments in Afghanistan, particularly in the
progress of democratic governance and the efforts of the National Unity
Government.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie, on behalf of the people and Government
of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, expressed his utmost gratitude
for Japan's generous, selfless and impact generating support, with the
leadership of Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado and The Imperial
Family of Japan. Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado communicated
that The Imperial Family of Japan, and the nation of Japan as a whole,
would continue to support Afghanistan.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie was warmly welcomed by the Ambassador of
Australia, H.E. Mr. Miller, who received heartfelt appreciation from
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie for Australia's great sacrifice in defending
freedom and liberty in the young democracy of Afghanistan as well as
for the country's assistance in the social and economic fields.
7/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends Meeting at Bank of Japan
April 07, 2015: As part of ongoing fastidious efforts relating to
Afghanistan's Vice Minister of Finance His Excellency Mr. Mustafa
Mastoor's candidature for the Vice President position in the Asia
Development Bank, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie held an
important meeting with Bank of Japan's Director and Senior Secretary to
the Governor Mr. Makoto Kasai. Details relating to the candidature were
discussed and vital steps forward were achieved.

6/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Meets With New JICA Representative to Afghanistan
April 6, 2015: JICA has played a fundamental role in
Afghanistan's reconstruction and sustainable development and it was
therefore a great honor for His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and
First Secretary and Consul Mrs. Farima Orya Afzali to welcome JICA's new
Resident Representative to Afghanistan the esteemed Mr. Eiichiro Cho
and the Deputy Director General for South Asia 2 and 3 South Asia
Department the outstanding Mr. Shigeki Furta.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie congratulated Mr. Cho on his new role and
highlighted the importance of education as a determinate of security,
health and stability in Afghanistan, while underlining that stability in
the country would equal health and wealth for the people. Challenges
being faced in regards to the the Afghan JICA student scholarship
recipients were also discussed.
Mr. Cho expressed his appreciation to the Embassy for the work it has
done in recent years with JICA along with requesting increased efforts
for more Afghan agricultural products to be exported to Japan as the
security situation improves and to reactivate the Parliamentary League
between the Afghan and Japanese Governments.
Few people have assisted the people of Afghanistan more so than long
time friend of Afghanistan former President of JICA, Her Excellency
Madam Sadako Ogata, who has significantly contributed to the betterment
of the lives of ordinary Afghans in all facets including in the areas of
education, economy and in agriculture. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie
communicated, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic
Republic of Afghanistan, his utmost gratitude to H.E. Madam Ogata, JICA
and the virtuous nation of Japan. Additionally, significant emphasis by
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie was placed on the vital role of agriculture
in the lives of some eighty percent of Afghans and he, therefore,
requested increased support by JICA for the country's agricultural
industry.

April 03, 2015: With great seriousness, His Excellency Ambassador
Dr. Fatimie attended the 23rd Peace Diplomats Forum. Hosted by the
Universal Peace Federation, the forum was based on the 70th Anniversary
of the end of World War II and the establishment of the United Nations
and the role Japan has played in facilitating world peace during this
period. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie spoke with the Universal Peace
Federation Chairman Dr. Eiji Tokuno as well as with esteemed guests and
extended his gratitude for Japan's invaluable efforts toward assisting
Afghanistan overcome its challenges.

3/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends Hanami Reception
With India as the fifth largest contributor of Official Development
Assistance to Afghanistan, it was a great pleasure for His Excellency
Ambassador Dr. Fatimie to attend a Hanami Reception on the warm
invitation of Ambassador of India Her Excellency Ms. Deepa Gopalan
Wadhwa. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie took the opportunity to further
Afghanistan's relations with India by speaking with H.E. Ambassador
Wadhwa, Minister Councillor Mr. Amit Kumar, and other esteemed members
of the Indian Embassy.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie also shared hearty discussions with long
time friend of Afghanistan and President of Komeito, His Excellency Mr.
Natsuo Yamaguchi, as well as with Liberal Democratic Party House of
Representatives members The Honorable Mr. Kiyoshi Odawara and The
Honorable Mr. Toshitaka Oooka.

2/04/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends Tokai University Student Welcoming Ceremony
April 02, 2015: The youth of Afghanistan represent the
country's hope for a brighter future and the people and Government of
Japan have contributed enormously to the fruition of such a hope,
particularly through the acceptance of Afghan university students on
scholarships. Representing the people and Government of the Islamic
Republic of Afghanistan, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie attended
the Welcoming Ceremony of new students, including eleven Afghans, at
Tokai University.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his deep gratitude to
President of Tokai University Professor Kiyoshi Yamada and stressed the
national importance of continuing to accept and possibly increasing the
number of Afghan students in order for Afghanistan to achieve its
successful transformation from dependence to self-reliant development.
Department Chair and Deputy Executive Director Professor Yoshio
Yamamoto, Chancellor and Executive Director Professor Haida Munetaka,
Assistant Chancellor and Executive Director Professor Naoto Yoshikawa,
and Chancellor Professor Kiyoshi Yamada, along with the Afghan students
met with H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie who cordially addressed them and
provided small gifts of appreciation and encouragement.
