April 15, 2015: In preparation for what will be the greatest
ever cultural exchange between Afghanistan and Japan in the history of
the two countries, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie warmly welcomed
an esteemed delegation which will work with the Embassy to host a
"Hidden Treasures From The National Museum of Afghanistan" exhibition at
the Kyushu National Museum and the Tokyo National Museum in 2016.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie discussed with The Sankei Shimbun's
Executive Director from Events and Promotion Department Mr. Yuichi
Suzuki, Manager from Events and Entertainment Business Division Ms.
Junko Yamamoto, Fuji Television Network's Senior Producer from Planning
and Production Event Department Mr. Hiroshi Kanda, Planning and
Production Department member Mr. Gaku Watanabe, Tokyo National Museum's
Supervisor from Planning Curatorial Planning Department Mr. Yoshihide
Koizumi, and MoFA Japan's Head of Afghanistan Section and friend of
Afghanistan Mr. Isami Takada, the details of the planning and progress
for Afghan treasures to be brought to Japan for the viewing pleasure of
the Japanese public.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie emphasized the importance of this
exhibition for both Afghanistan and Japan and that the Embassy would by
all means possible ensure that the efficient and diligent assistance
necessary would at all times be prioritized to ensure the successful
outcome of this spectacular showcase of Afghanistan's glorious history
and culture which will include artifacts that are more than four
thousand years old.
