April 17, 2015: Ever increasing bridges of understanding and
friendship have been built between the people of Afghanistan and Japan
in recent years. The United Nations Research Institute for Training and
Research "Photo Exhibition of Afghanistan - Face of Fellowship" is one
such example and His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie was given the honor of
presenting an important speech to the audience as part of the opening
ceremony's formalities.

Being hosted at the United Nations University, the UNITAR Photo
Exhibition of Afghanistan - Face of Fellowship will over the following
weeks, present to the Japanese public and international visitors a rare
opportunity to experience the world through the eyes of Afghans.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his deep appreciation, on
behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of
Afghanistan, to Head of UNITAR Hiroshima Office Ms. Mihoko Kumamoto,
Under Secretary General Rector of United Nations University Dr. David
Malone, Special Representative of Tokyo Yoneyama Yuai Rotary Club Ms.
Hiroko Seki, and to long time friend of the Afghanistan the outstanding
Mr. Farooq Asefi. In what was a particulaly special moment, H.E.
Ambassador Dr. Fatime also spent time with some hard working Afghan
students who are studying here in Japan and were present at the
exhibition's opening.
