April 02, 2015: The youth of Afghanistan represent the
country's hope for a brighter future and the people and Government of
Japan have contributed enormously to the fruition of such a hope,
particularly through the acceptance of Afghan university students on
scholarships. Representing the people and Government of the Islamic
Republic of Afghanistan, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie attended
the Welcoming Ceremony of new students, including eleven Afghans, at
Tokai University.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his deep gratitude to
President of Tokai University Professor Kiyoshi Yamada and stressed the
national importance of continuing to accept and possibly increasing the
number of Afghan students in order for Afghanistan to achieve its
successful transformation from dependence to self-reliant development.
Department Chair and Deputy Executive Director Professor Yoshio
Yamamoto, Chancellor and Executive Director Professor Haida Munetaka,
Assistant Chancellor and Executive Director Professor Naoto Yoshikawa,
and Chancellor Professor Kiyoshi Yamada, along with the Afghan students
met with H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie who cordially addressed them and
provided small gifts of appreciation and encouragement.
