June 13, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to receive a courtesy call by Mr. Keiichi Yamamoto, Manager for the Fiber Materials Planning & Development Department for Kuraray Co. Ltd., and Mr. Takeshi Uchibori, Professional Photographer on for Kuraray charitable events, at the Embassy in Tokyo.
Kuraray Co. Ltd., a member of the Mizuho Keiretsu and originated in Kurashiki City in Okayama Prefecture, since 2004 has been actively donating Japanese style children’s backpacks called “randoseru” to Afghan children. These randoseru backpacks are known for their durability, convenience, and unique styled-to-function abilities, and thus far Kuraray has donated over 150,000 randoseru unites to at-need children in Afghanistan.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat warmly welcomed Messrs. Keiichi Yamamoto and Takeshi Uchibori to the embassy. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, he sincerely thanked them for their magnificent efforts and generosity over the many years in outfitting young students with the durable randoseru to help facilitate their studies, thus investing in education and in future generations of Afghans as these randoseru can be passed on along over the generations. In return, they thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and assured him that the promotion of education and the enhancements of facilitating the young, future leaders of Afghanistan, will always be a priority for them. At this time, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat took the opportunity to apprise Messrs. Keiichi Yamamoto and Takeshi Uchibori of the advance made by the National Unity Government in the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process.
