25/02/2011 Ambassador Fatimie meets with Dr. Vafa and Ms. Yasukawa of Runway Hope Foundation at the Embassy


February 25, 2011: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie, along with Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Deputy Chief of Mission, welcomed Dr. Sena Vafa and Ms. Emi Yasukawa of Runway Hope Foundation to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo.
The foundation, which works to raise awareness of refugees and their struggles through fashion, is working towards organizing in September a fund-raising fashion show in Tokyo to support refugees and those applying for refugee status in Japan. The end goal is for the group to organize such shows yearly or twice yearly in and near Japan

17/02/2011 Ambassador Fatimie meets with Ms. Hayden, President and CEO of Gavin Anderson and Company


February 17, 2011: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie welcomed to the Embassy Ms. Deborah Hayden, President and CEO of Gavin Anderson and Company. The warm and friendly meeting was also attended by Mr. Hidayatullah Zahid, Director of Presidential Programs for the Office of the President, and from the Embassy, Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Deputy Chief of Mission, and Mr. Jason Pratt, Public Affairs Officer.
Ambassador Fatimie expressed gratitude for Ms. Hayden’s continued friendship and dedication for the Afghan mission in Tokyo. Together, they discussed the importance of spreading news of the positive progress being made in Afghanistan both to key Japanese persons and to the Japanese public in general.
In closing, the two agreed to hold regular consultations.

17/02/2011 Ambassador Fatimie meets with Dr. Rajasekera of the International University of Japan


February 17, 2011: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie received at the Embassy Dr. Jay R. Rajasekera, Director of the International University of Japan’s E-Business Management Program and Matsushita Library & Information Center. Dr. Rajasekera is also a Professor of Management Systems and Strategy at the University. Mr. S.A. Razaq Luqman, first secretary, and Mr. Jason Pratt, public affairs officer, also attended the meeting from the Embassy side.
The International University of Japan is a leading center for post-graduate business studies. The school includes among its alumni an Afghan who has since returned to Afghanistan to put his education to use. Ambassador Fatimie and Dr. Rajasekera discussed possibilities for having more Afghans study at the school.
Also discussed was the future plans for Ambassador Fatimie to speak to students at the school as well as the possible establishment of a program for students to, through a course, promote Afghan investment as an exercise in real-world business skill development.

2/02/2011 Ambassador Fatimie meets with Mr. Hotz of the Embassy of the United States of America.



February 2, 2011: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie, Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Mr. S. A. Razaq Luqman, and Mr. Jason Pratt received Mr. Raymond Hotz, first secretary of the Embassy of the United States of America, at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Ambassador Fatimie, on the occasion of their meeting, requested that Mr. Hotz convey his gratitude to H.E. Ambassador John Roos for having made time to meet the previous week.

During the meeting, the shared Afghan-U.S..-Japanese understanding of the greater regional realities of the security situation in Afghanistan was discussed, among other key issues of mutual interest and concern.
Ambassador Fatimie and Mr. Hotz agreed to meet regularly to discuss key matters.
