Attendance at the Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival) Reception Hosted by Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado.
March 3, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival) Reception hosted by Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado at her residence in Tokyo.
Each year on Girls’ Day (March 3rd) a display of Heian Era Court dolls is put on display in homes across Japan as families pray for the health and growth of their daughters. Her Imperial Highness Takamado invited approximately 100 guests from all different aspects of Japanese society within her circle of familiarity, including Ambassadors and Their wives the Ambassadresses, to her residence for the intimate reception and showcase of her doll collection in honor of the day.
On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat extended thanks to Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado for the reliably steadfast and benevolent support by the friendly people and noble Government of Japan over the years to Afghanistan as it has worked towards redevelopment, peace, and prosperity. That through the compassionate generosity and example set by the Imperial Family over Japan, Afghanistan would hope to find peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance as well as his kind words and further added that Japan would endeavor to stand by Afghanistan as she strives for peace well into the future.
