Attendance at the Opening Ceremony of the Art Fair Tokyo 2019.
March 7, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the opening ceremony of the Art Fair Tokyo 2019 at the Tokyo International Forum. Also in attendance was Mr. Asif Agah, Second Secretary for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo.
This year on display at the grand event was an art piece by the very talented and upcoming Afghan Artist Mr. Amin Taasha entitled “Enjoy the life as it is” created in 2018 and using gold, silver, ink, watercolor on paper, mounted on silicon. On Behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of extending sincerest appreciation for extending an opportunity such as this for a brilliant Afghan Artist to be displayed in such a widely attended, large scale event.
Art Fair Tokyo is the largest art fair in Japan and the oldest in Asia, featuring a wide range of art from antiques and crafts to nihonga painting, modern art and contemporary art. The fair continues as a platform for the art market, connecting past and present, Asia and the West, and presenting historically inspired artistic contexts.
