April 17, 2017: It was an honor for His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie to meet with H.E. Mr. Mr. Akira Sugiyama, Chief of Protocol, and Ms. Kyoko Ito, Assistant Chief of Protocol of MOFA Japan in a Farewell luncheon meeting hosted by the later two at Daigo Restaurant in Atago. Also in attendance was Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Minister-Councillor for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his sincerest thanks to H.E. Mr. Akira Sugiyama, Chief of Protocol, and Ms. Kyoko Ito, Assistant Chief of Protocol of MOFA Japan for making time in their schedules to meet. H.E. Dr. Fatimie also thanked them for the long time friendly relationships between Japan and Afghanistan. H.E. Dr. Fatimie further expressed his thanks to the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan who have sincerely helped Afghanistan achieve great strides in progress on the road towards stability, peace, and prosperity, and updated him on the many progressive achievements in Afghanistan over the past 15 years. In return, H.E. Mr. Sugiyama thanked H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie for attending the meeting and , more importantly, his long efforts over the duration of his long mission in Japan in maintaining great relations between the two nations. He further complimented H.E. Dr. Fatimie on being a wonderful ambassador serving to bridge the two countries, and assured him of Japan’s continued support of Afghanistan in its ongoing development, and encouraged him to please remember Japan and visit them again. H.E. Dr. Fatimie, H.E. Mr. Sugiyama, Ms. Ito, and Dr. Mohabbat further discussed topics of mutual interest and their hopes for continuing the partnership between Japan and Afghanistan.
