Meeting with H.E. Mr. Takashi Uto, Chairman of Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense, Member of House of Councillors
April 11, 2017: It was an honor for His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie to meeting with H.E. Mr. Takashi Uto, Chairman of Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense, Member of the House of Councillors for the LDP, at the Chairman’s Office in the House of Councillors Members’ Building in Nagatacho. Also in attendance was Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Minister-Councillor for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan. They were greeted at the building with full, formal diplomatic protocol.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his sincerest thanks to H.E. Mr. Uto for making time in his schedule to meet and for the grand greeting. H.E. Dr. Fatimie also thanked him for the long and enduring friendship between Japan and Afghanistan which has been an invaluable help in so many facet. H.E. Dr. Fatimie further expressed his thanks to the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan, the ideal model of democracy to the world, who have sincerely helped Afghanistan achieve great strides in progress on the road towards stability, peace, and prosperity over the past 15 years. Through Japan’s priceless cooperative efforts like the PEACE Program, they have helped to invest in Afghanistan’s future by way of Human Capacity Building, assuring an improved quality of life for all Afghans, and by extension, the world. In return, H.E. Mr. Uto thanked H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie for attending the meeting and his many efforts in bridging great relations between the two nations. He further assured H.E. Dr. Fatimie of Japan’s continued support of Afghanistan in its ongoing development, their willingness to stand with the people and Government of Afghanistan to support the Afghan Army, and their dedication to contribute more focus on the health sector and other humanitarian efforts. H.E. Dr. Fatimie and H.E. Mr. Uto further discussed topics of mutual interest and their hopes for continuing the partnership between Japan and Afghanistan.
