Meeting with H.E. Mr. Kentaro Sonoura, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Japan.

April 12, 2017: It was an honor for His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie to meet with H.E. Mr. Kentaro Sonoura, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Japan, at the MOFA Japan Headquarters in Kasumigaseki. H.E. Mr. Sonoura has been active as an elected politician and member of the House of Representatives since 2005. Also in attendance was Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Minister-Councillor for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his sincerest thanks to H.E. Mr. Sonoura for making time in his schedule to meet with him. H.E. Dr. Fatimie also thanked him for the long friendly relations between Japan and Afghanistan which has been an invaluable help in so many facets. H.E. Dr. Fatimie further expressed his thanks to the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan who have benevolently helped Afghanistan achieve great strides in progress on the road towards stability, peace, and prosperity over the past 15 years. Through Japan’s priceless efforts, they have helped to invest in Afghanistan’s future by way of Human Capacity Building, assuring an improved quality of life for all Afghans, and by extension, the world. In return, H.E. Mr. Sonoura thanked H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie for attending the meeting and his many efforts in bridging great relations between the two nations. He further assured H.E. Dr. Fatimie of Japan’s continued support of Afghanistan in its ongoing developmentfor many years to come. H.E. Dr. Fatimie and H.E. Mr. Sonoura further discussed topics of mutual interest and their hopes for continuing the partnership between Japan and Afghanistan.
