June 06, 2018 The First Secretary and Head of Political Affairs of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mr. Basir Hamdard had the great honor and pleasure to attend the Yomiuri International Forum 2018 on “The Abe-Trump Alliance & North Korea” at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan, with his Excellency Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Dr. Bashir Mohabbat.
Mr. Hamdard had the pleasure of meeting and talking to guest speakers of the event: Mr. Richard Armitage, former American naval officer and former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State; Mr. Kenichiro Sase, former Japanese Ambassador to the U.S.; and Dr. Toshiro Nakayama, Professor at the Faculty of Policy Management Graduate School of Media and Governance at Keio University, to whom he expressed his heartfelt thanks for the continual and benevolent support of Afghanistan on behalf of the people and Government of Afghanistan. In return, Messrs. Armitage, Sase, and Nakayama thanked Mr. Hamdard for his kind words and expressed their sincerest hope that their countries develop deeper and more profound ties.
Additionally, Mr. Hamdard had the honor of meeting and speaking with several of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, Diplomats with missions in Japan, and high ranking members of several Governments present with whom he discussed many topics of mutual interest.
