June 07, 2018: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor and pleasure of meeting with Mr. Toshio Shimizu, Editor of the Cultural Section and Ms. Yoshiko Kawaharada, Staff Writer; both of the Chunichi Newspaper, Nagoya Headquarters, to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat extended his warmest welcome and deepest appreciation to Mr. Shimizu and Ms. Kawaharada for their kind visit to the embassy. In return, Mr. Shimizu and Ms. Kawaharada each expressed their thanks to H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his sincere words and for making time in his schedule to meet. They discussed their wishes for H.E. Dr. Mohabbat to write a short piece encompassing topics of Peace and War in Afghanistan as well as encouraged writers of all ages that are of Afghanistan descent to write for their publication that will be released in August. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat was delighted to hear the request and shared great interest in this matter as it provides an opportunity to continue to deepen the relationship between Japan and Afghanistan. Further, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of recounting for them the many wonderful experiences he remembered fondly over the few decades he spent living in Nagoya while finishing his Master's and PhD; how much the wonderful people of Nagoya and the hospitality factors into his idea of peace and into his heart.
