Meeting with Outgoing and Incoming Official for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan’s Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau’s Second Middle East Division.
July 17, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to meet again with Ms. Kinuka Shibamura, outgoing Official for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan’s Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau’s Second Middle East Division; and Mr. Koichi Hatanaka, incoming Assistant Director for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan’s Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau’s Second Middle East Division, at the embassy here in Tokyo. Also in attendance was Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo.
Ms. Shibamura thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for making time in his schedule to meet and expressed sincere thanks for the warm welcome each time she visits. In return H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked her for her kind words and expressed his appreciation for Ms. Shibamura’s time for meeting again. Moreover, Ms. Shibamura thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat and all the diplomats and official of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Afghanistan for their support and assistance throughout her tenure as an Official for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan’s Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau’s Second Middle East Division. Additionally, she expressed her wishes for a smooth transition and continuation of the warm bilateral cooperation under the tenure of Mr. Hatanaka.
On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat, extended his gratitude for the service of Ms. Shibamura over the years, wished her the best in her next mission, and thanked her for the long support and assistance of the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan which has stood with Afghanistan during the rebuilding process, and like others from the international community, striving to help bring further peace and security to Afghanistan. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat assured Ms. Shibamura and Mr. Hatanaka that the close and friendly relations they have enjoyed over the years will continue on under Mr. Hatanaka. Additionally, Mr. Hatanaka along with H.E. Dr. Mohabbat shared the optimism for the relationship between Japan and Afghanistan growing ever more so. They further discussed topics of mutual interest.
