Dinner at the Residence of the Minister of the Consular Section at the Embassy of India
October 12, 2017: Mr. Ahmad Bashir Ghafoori, First Secretary and Consul, had the honor and pleasure of attending a dinner hosted by Mr. Avnish Sharma, Minister of the Consular Section at the Embassy of India, at his residence in Tokyo, Japan.
Mr. Ghafoori thanked Mr. Sharma for hosting the event and, on behalf of the people and Government of Afghanistan, extended his sincere gratitude for the gracious support from the Indian Government and people to Afghanistan, such as the building of over 200 schools and sponsoring of 16,000 Afghan students. In response, Mr. Sharma commented on the strong, brotherly relationship between Afghanistan and India and expressed his desire to see the bond between the two great nations strengthen. Mr. Ghafoori and Mr. Sharma then discussed topics of mutual interest, such as the recent speeches by leaders of allied nations planning for active steps to achieving further peace and security in Afghanistan.
Mr. Ghafoori also had the opportunity to speak with representatives from various European Union and Central Asian countries with who he discussed topics of mutual interest.
