2019年7月31日: 鈴鹿光次駐アフガニスタン特命全権大使と昼食会議をする事が出来た事は、モハバット駐日アフガニスタン大使にとって名誉と誇りでした。

バシール・モハバット駐日アフガニスタン大使は、再びお会いし、重要な問題について議論する機会である昼食会議のために忙しいスケジュールの中から時間を割いて頂いた鈴鹿駐アフガニスタン特命全権大使に対して、感謝の意を表しました。そのお返しに、鈴鹿駐アフガニスタン特命全権大使は、再びお会いし、それぞれの任務に対する重要な話題について議論することが出来た機会に対して感謝の意を述べました。アフガニスタン･イスラム共和国の人々と政府を代表して、モハバット駐日アフガニスタン大使は、鈴鹿駐アフガニスタン特命全権大使に対して日本とアフガニスタンのとても長い友好関係に感謝し、日本による確固とし、善意のある支援、そしてアフガニスタンが所有し、アフガニスタンが主導したプロセスで更なる平和と繁栄を目指して努力している間、再建の進行を通して、アフガニスタンを支持してきた日本による支援に心から感謝の意を述べました。

July 31, 2019: It was an honor and pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to have a lunch meeting with H.E. Mr. Mitsuji Suzuka, Ambassador of Japan to Afghanistan, in Tokyo.

H.E. Dr. Bashir Mohabbat expressed his gratitude to H.E. Ambassador Mr. Suzuka for making time in his schedule to meet once again and share lunch together allowing themselves the opportunity to discuss important matters. In return, H.E. Mr. Suzuka expressed appreciation for the opportunity to meet again and discuss topics of importance to both of their respective missions. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked H.E. Mr. Suzuka for the very longtime friendly relationship between Japan and Afghanistan and expressed sincere gratitude for the steadfast and benevolent support and assistance of the noble nation of Japan which has stood by Afghanistan throughout the rebuilding progression as it strives for further peace and prosperity in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process.

In return, H.E. Mr. Suzuka thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words, and assured him of Japan’s continued support of Afghanistan in its development. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat apprised H.E. Mr. Suzuka of the most recent developments regarding recent developments related to the peace process and the upcoming presidential election. H.E. Mr. Suzuka expressed his thanks for the full briefing and was very impressed and interested in the most current steps and developments in the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process towards peace. Moreover, he remarked on the great initiative and leadership by H.E. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani through these endeavors in assuring the continuation of the democratic election, and also promised that people and Government of Japan would fully continue to support and stand by the Afghan people in the peace process well into the future. They further discussed all topics of mutual interest between them.

July 30, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the reception on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the accession to the throne of His Majesty Mohammed VI of Morocco (Enthronement Day) at the Hotel Okura in Tokyo.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat sincerely congratulated H.E. Mr. Mohammad Rachad Bouhlal, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Japan, and through him H.M. King Mohammed VI, on the notable occasions and wished them continuous health, happiness and prosperity. In return, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Bouhlal thanked H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance and also wished happiness and prosperity for Afghanistan as it continues to strive for peace and prosperity.

While at the event, H.E. Dr, Mohabbat had the chance to meet and converse with Hon. Mr. Akitaka Saiki, President of the Middle East Institute of Japan and Advisor to H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan; H.E. 2019年7月30日: ホテルオークラ東京で行われた、モロッコのモハメド6世（即位の日）の王位即位20周年記念のレセプションに主席なさったことは、バシール・モハバット特命全権大使にとって名誉あることでした。

モハバット大使はラシャッド・ブフラル駐日トロッコ大使に心かのお祝いを申し上げ、ブフラル大使を通してモハメド6世に重要な時期に彼らの継続的な幸福と繁栄をお祈りしました。その返礼として、ブフラル大使はモハバット大使の出席に感謝され、そしてアフガニスタンが平和と繁栄のために努力を続けているため、アフガニスタンの幸福と繁栄を願われました。

Attending the Cormorant-Fishing Party in Gifu Prefecture.

July 24, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the Cormorant-Fishing Party on the River Nagara, hosted by the Imperial Household Agency, in Gifu Prefecture.

The event began in the Banquet Room of the Gifu Grand Hotel, where a screening of a short film about cormorant fishing was held. Following the wonderful show, the guests boarded barges on the River Nagara and commenced cormorant fishing, at the conclusion of which the distinguished guests returned to the Ballroom for a tremendous buffet dinner. This annual ceremony is held every year at the invitation of the Imperial Household Agency.

On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed sincere thanks to the people and Government of Japan through H.E. Mr. Yoshitaka Akimoto, the Grand Master of Ceremonies for the Imperial Household Agency for the steadfast and benevolent support over the years as Afghanistan has striven for progress, prosperity, and peace. Additionally he mentioned that as this year is a milestone year for Afghanistan and as such has great significance for Afghanistan and Japan. In return, H.E. Master of Ceremonies Mr. Akimoto thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance as well as for his kind words and assured him that Japan values its friendly and warm relations with Afghanistan and would endeavor to uphold them well into the future.. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat further expressed his wishes for continuous friendship between Afghanistan and Japan, reaffirming the importance of deeply rooted cultural events such as this which do much to enhance the diplomatic missions of the various nations represented. Also while at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meting again with Hon. Mr. Masanao Shibahashi, Mayor of Gifu City, to whom he expressed heartfelt thanks and appreciation for opening up the many wonders of Gifu City to all of the visiting guests in attendance for the Cormorant-fishing party. Additionally H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with the other distinguished guests in attendance for the event about many topics of mutual interest.

July 22, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the “52nd Award for Social Contributors’ hosted by the Foundation for Social Change at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.

At the opening ceremony, welcoming remarks were given by the Hon. Mrs. Akie Abe, Chairwoman of the Foundation for Social Change and the First lady of Japan. On of the Award recipient this year was Nara Prefecture’s Mr. Noboru Takitani, who was a part of Overseas Technical Corporation Agency (OTCA) – the predecessor of JICA, in 1974 as part of the Colombo Plan when they worked in Afghanistan to manufacture prosthetic limbs; until returning to Japan 1980. At the invitation of Ms. Keiko Nishigaki, he returned to Afghanistan and began working with the volunteer organization providing prosthetic limbs to children in orphanages.

At the reception, on behalf of the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed thanks and appreciation to Mr. Takitani for his ceaseless work in helping to make better the lives of Afghans for which Afghanistan would forever be grateful. In Return Mr. Takitani thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and expressed his intentions and wishes to be able to continue his work and continue providing prosthetics to children.

H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the opportunity to express sincere thanks and appreciation to Hon. Chairwoman and First Lady Mrs. Akie Abe, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for the steadfast and benevolent support of the noble people and Government of Japan for the many years Afghanistan has striven form progress, prosperity, and peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. Moreover, he thanked her for Chairing such a wonderful organization which hosts unique opportunities to honor members of the community which engage in noble acts such as this.

While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of again meeting and speaking with Hon. Ms. Mariko Nakasone, former Chairman of the International Ladies Benevolent Society to whom he extended warm greetings and appreciation for her support of volunteer projects which have helped to benefit Afghanistan. Additionally, he had the pleasure of meeting with other distinguished guests all present in honor of the awards event.

July 19, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the Meeting of the Asiatic Society of Japan, at the residence of Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado at Akasaka Gosho in Tokyo.

According to the ASJ website, “ASJ is Japan's oldest learned society. Inspired by the Royal Asiatic Societies of their day, ASJ's founders set into motion coordinated activities ‘to collect and publish information on subjects relating to Japan and other Asiatic Countries.’" The exclusive event for this month was hosted by Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado who has served as an Honorary Patron of ASJ since 1997.

While at the event, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat who is one of the newest Board members of the ASJ, also had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with the other special guest members of ASJ present at the invitation-only event to listen to the meeting’s lecture.

July 19, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to meet with his longtime friend, and longtime friend of Afghanistan, H.E. Mr. Katsuhiko Takahashi, newly appointed Director-General and Assistant Minister for the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, as well as Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan of MOFA Japan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Tokyo. Also in attendance was Mr. Bashir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo.

H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked H.E. Mr. Takahashi for making the time in his busy schedule to meet with him. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, congratulated him on his recent appointment as Director General as well as expressed wholehearted gratitude to the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan for their continuous benevolent support of Afghanistan as it has striven over the years for progress, prosperity, and peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. Additionally, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat updated him on the many developments in the peace process Afghanistan has undertaken recently in order to advance regional stability and global peace.

In return, H.E. Mr. Takahashi thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for meeting with him as well as for his kind words. H.E. Mr. Takahashi was quite impressed with the progress being made in the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process and reassured him that Japan values its strong and friendly bilateral tie with Afghanistan and as such would continue to stand with Afghanistan well into the future. All those present further discussed topics of mutual interest regarding peace, economics, and Afghanistan’s upcoming 100th year of Independence on August 19th.

July 18, 2019: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the pleasure of attending the Reception Honoring the 243rd Independence Day of America at the Ambassador’s Residence of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.

On behalf of the people and Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed sincerest congratulations on this most auspicious occasion to the people and Government of the United States of America through H.E. Mr. William Hagerty IV, Ambassador of the United States of America to Japan. In return, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Hagerty thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance and kind words, and wished for the continuation of profound relations between Afghanistan and the United States. Furthermore, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat extended his gratitude for the long support and assistance of the people and Government of the United States of America which has steadfastly stood alongside Afghanistan over the years throughout the rebuilding process on the mission to attain security and peace in its Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. Moreover, as H.E. Ambassador Mr. Hagerty will be resigning his post later this month, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat wished him the best of luck in his future endeavors, as well as expressed to Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Joseph M. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to meet again with Ms. Kinuka Shibamura, outgoing Official for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan’s Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau’s Second Middle East Division; and Mr. Koichi Hatanaka, incoming Assistant Director for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan’s Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau’s Second Middle East Division, at the embassy here in Tokyo. Also in attendance was Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo.

Ms. Shibamura thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for making time in his schedule to meet and expressed sincere thanks for the warm welcome each time she visits. In return H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked her for her kind words and expressed his appreciation for Ms. Shibamura’s time for meeting again. Moreover, Ms. Shibamura thanked H.E. July 17, 2019: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the pleasure of attending the “Fukushima Fair in MOFA” at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Tokyo. Also in attendance was Mr. Rasrullah Rozbeh, Second Secretary for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo.

The fair, organized by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, helps to promote the many wonderfully various products of Fukushima Prefecture such as newly harvested rice, seasonal fruits such as peaches, and other confectionery treats. It also informs the public of the most up-to-date knowledge concerning the advances in the safety of agricultural and fishery products of Fukushima Prefecture.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat and Mr. Rozbeh were pleasured to try some of the products from Fukushima and were highly impressed with their quality and flavor. While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting once again with several MOFA Officials who he congratulated on such a successful and delightful event. Further, he assured them that he will continue to spread awareness of the excellence of Fukushima products such as those he experienced at the event and expressed his wishes for the successful restoration and revitalization of Fukushima. While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with others of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, diplomats with missions in Japan, high-ranking government officials, and other distinguished guests all present in order to experience all the wonders Fukushima Prefecture has to offer.

Additionally, he expressed his wishes for a smooth transition and continuation of the warm bilateral cooperation under the tenure of Ms. Eto.

On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat, extended his gratitude for the service of Mr. Suzuki over the years, wished him the best in all his future endeavors, and thanked him for the long support and assistance of the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan which has stood with Afghanistan during the rebuilding process, and like others from the international community, striving to help bring further peace and security to Afghanistan. July 11, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to host an event opportunity of giving an Afghanistan presentation and reception for Active Middle International Association guests at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo, Japan.

Guests of Active Middle International Association were greeted with welcoming remarks by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat who welcomed them to the embassy and encouraged them to learn all they could about the wonderful country of Afghanistan. Further, they were given a delightful and informative presentation on Afghanistan’s history, culture, natural resources, and progress by Embassy Staff member Mr. Ashraf Baburi.

Following their presentation on Afghanistan, the guests were treated to a special dinner of various Afghan traditional foods carefully prepared by the embassy in honor of the occasion.

At the completion of the meal, the guests were invited to Participate in a quiz game about Afghanistan and awarded various prizes of Afghan dried fruits, nuts, and saffron. All those present had an enjoyable time and remarked at how impressed they were with their new introduction to the wonders of Afghanistan.

July 11, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend a luncheon meeting with Mr. Hajime Ueda, Director of Terrorism Prevention Division for the Consular Affairs Bureau of MOFA Japan. Also in attendance was Ms. Yoshiko Shimokawa, Assistant Director of the same division, as well as Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary, and Mr. Abdul Hameed Hashimi, Third Secretary and Consul for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan.

Director Mr. Ueda expressed his sincere appreciation to H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat for meeting with him again to continue the good relations between their division and the Embassy. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked Director Ueda for hosting the lunch as well as for his kind words. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also expressed his gratitude, on behalf of people of Afghanistan, for Japan’s steadfast and continuous support of Afghanistan in its rebuilding process over the years during its road to progress, prosperity, and peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. He further expressed his wishes to make deeper and more profound the relationship and bond between Afghanistan and Japan.

Additionally H.E. Dr. Mohabbat updated Director Ueda on the many progressive achievements in Afghanistan’s peace process, and asked for Japan’s continued support in helping to provide more advancement in Japan's investment in the economics and opportunities of Afghanistan in order to help cement a foundation for security. All present further discussed topics of mutual interest such as the recent speeches by leaders of allied nations planning for active steps to achieving further regional peace, security, and stability.

July 8, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the National Day Reception of the Arab Republic of Egypt at the residence of His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Ayman Aly Kamel.

At the ceremony prior to the reception, H.E. Mr. Kenji Yamada, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan spoke on the close relations between Egypt and Japan. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed heartfelt congratulations to the people and Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt through H.E. Ambassador Mr. Kamel in honor of the auspicious occasion as well as expressed his appreciation for Egypt's continuous support in Afghanistan during the rebuilding process. In return, H.E. Mr. Kamel thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and attendance.

While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with H.E. July 5, 2019: It was an honor and pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the inauguration party in honor of newly appointed president of the Tsukahara Gymnastics Center, Hon. Mr. Naoya Tsukahara, at the Prince Park Hotel in Tokyo.

Opening remarks at the ceremony were given by Hon. Mr. Mitsuo Tsukahara, 5-Time Olympic Gold Medalist, Japan Olympic Committee Executive Board member and Vice President of the Japan Gymnastic Association. He spoke on the importance of continuing the quality of excellence at the Tsukahara Gymnastics Center and his pride at being able to see his son, Hon. Mr. Naoya Tsukahara assume the Presidency. Hon. Mr. Naoya Tsukahara competed on the Japanese National Gymnastics team in 1996, 2000, and 2004. In 2004 at the Athens Summer Olympic Games in Greece, Hon. Mr. Naoya Tsukahara received a gold medal as a part of the Gold Medal Winning National Team. His appointment as President of the Tsukahara Gymnastics Center enables the continuation of the strong ethic and incomparable skills of the Tsukahara family to the next generation of gymnasts.

On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat offered congratulations on the new position within the Tsukahara Gymnastics Center to Hon. Mr. Tsukahara, wishing him a most successful and fruitful tenure for the Center under his leadership. Moreover, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked Hon. Mr. Tsukahara for the offer by the Center to host and assist Afghan athlete members of Afghanistan’s National Olympic Team that may be coming to Tokyo next year for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In return, Hon. Mr. Tsukahara thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and assured him that the Tsukahara Center would be happy to host members of Afghanistan’s National Olympic Team next year and would look for further ways to enhance relations between the Center and Afghanistan for other opportunities in the future. While at the reception, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting and speaking again with his close personal friends, and friend to Afghanistan, Hon. Mr. & Mrs. Toshiaki Ito, the latter a City Council Member of Mitaka City who has helped to bridge cooperation and understanding between Afghans and Japanese. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the opportunity to meet with Hon. Mr. & Mrs. Tomiaki Fukuda, the latter the President of the Japan Wrestling Federation and Vice President of the Japanese Olympic Committee, where he heads the National Training Center Commission; with whom he spoke of Hon. Fukuda's experience as a freestyle wrestler meeting Afghan wrestlers and admiring their indomitable spirit and tenacity. Additionally, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting and talking with several of the distinguished guests all present in honor of the occasion.

July 4, 2019:It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to host a small dinner for Hon. Mr. Mohammad Naiem Haqmal, Auditor General, and Hon. Mr. Fazel Fazel Hadi, both of the Supreme Audit Office of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan at the Ambassador’s residence within the embassy. Also in attendance were Mr. Naqshband Haya, First Secretary; and Mr. Abdul Hameed Hashimi, Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo.

H.E. Dr. Mohabbat and the diplomats warmly welcomed the guests, gave them a tour of the Embassy building, and accompanied them to the residence where the dinner was held.

Hon. Messrs. Haqmal and Hadi were in Japan on an official visit through the auspices of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan for the "INTOSAI Capacity Building Committee & INTOSAI Donor Cooperation Steering Committee 2019" conference in Tokyo, Japan; sponsored by INTOSAI's Capacity Building Committee (CBC), INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation Steering Committee (IDSC), and the Board of Audit of Japan (BOA). They first thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for the invitation and expressed sincere appreciation towards the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Tokyo for all of their assistance throughout their stay. Hon. Messrs. Haqmal and Hadi briefed H.E. Dr. Mohabbat about their excellent experiences on their trip here at the hosting of the Japanese government and Japan MOFA, and were thankful to them for his very fruitful trip to Japan. In return, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked Hon. Messrs. Haqmal and Hadi for their thoughtful words and expressed his great joy in hosting a final dinner on the occasion of Hon. Messrs. Haqmal and Hadi’s visit. They mutually agreed to strengthen closer relations between Afghanistan and Japan and further discussed topics of mutual interest and the luncheon was held under a very amicable atmosphere.

2019年7月2日: モハバット大使は、東京のホテルニューオータニで駐日中国大使のKong Xuanyou氏の就任式に出席いたしました。

アフガニスタンイスラム共和国の国民及び政府を代表してモハバット大使は最初にお祝いの言葉を述べました。Kong大使は、大使として働いた時間や在任期間中の成功のを常に願い、また、退任式への招待に感謝し中国大使館とそれぞれの国の間の良好な二国間関係の継続の願いなどをお話しされました。その返答として、モハバット大使は、両国とそれぞれの国との間の温かい関係を強く望んでいるとの意を示しました。

退任式の間、モハバット大使はほかに出席している大使や日本の代表団を持つ外交官、政府関係者、そしてほかの著名な来客と互いに関心のある話題について談笑いたしました。

On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat first expressed his congratulations to H.E. Ambassador Mr. Kong on the occasion of the beginning of his time as Ambassador and wished him the best of successes over the duration of his tenure. Further he thanked him for the invitation to the reception and expressed his wishes for a continuance of good bilateral relations between their embassies and respective countries. In return, H.E. Mr. Kong thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his warm, kind word as well as expressed his agreeing wish for warm and strong relations between themselves and their respective countries.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat thanked H.E. Mr. Laurel for taking the time to meet with him. Furthermore, he thanked H.E. Mr. Laurel, on behalf of the people and Government of Afghanistan, for the kind support of Afghanistan by the warm, friendly people and Government of the Philippines over the years at it has strived for progress, prosperity, and peace. As the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Philippines, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat has great interest and a special place in his heart for the wonderfully kind people of the Philippines. In return, H.E. Mr. Laurel thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and expressed his sincerest promises for the relations between their two respective countries to deepen and become more profound. July 1, 2019: 民間外交推進協会（FEC）の代表者との昼食会議を催すことができたことは、モハバット大使にとって大変喜ばしいことでありました。モハバット大使は歓迎のあいさつの中で、外交官とその関係者らが有益な交流によって結び付けられ、アフガニスタンへの関心を求めるFECの方々の尊大な姿勢に感謝の意を示しました。

FEC副会長兼みずほフィナンシャルグループ名誉顧問を務める齋藤氏は、モハバット大使によるあいさつの後演台で祝辞を述べ、外交使節団と民間職員がともに友好的に関係を築けるような中でFECの任務向上につながる場を設けることができたことに感謝の意を示しました。

齋藤氏のお言葉に引き続き、モハバット大使はアフガニスタンの歴史、文化、現在の情勢に関する口演を行いました。30分間の口演では、参加者の方々の真剣な姿勢にモハバット大使は喜ばれておりました。

講演内容については、アフガニスタンと日本との類似性や国内、アジア、世界におけるアフガニスタンの経済的可能性についても含むものでありました。

口演の最後には、モハバット大使は会議の参加者からの質問にお答えし、今回の昼食会議へ参加されたFEC代表の方々に対し、お礼の言葉を述べました。また、感謝の意を込めてアフガニスタン料理をおもてなししました。

お食事後、FEC理事長を務める松澤建氏はアフガニスタン流のおもてなしや口演について感謝のお言葉を述べ、参加者の多くは楽しく、アフガニスタンの魅力を感じられるようなひと時であったと述べられておりました。
