Attendance at National Day and German Unity Day Reception.

October 3, 2018: It was a pleasure for His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the Day of German Unity, a National Day reception for the Federal Republic of Germany, at the German Ambassador’s Residence in Tokyo.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed his sincere congratulations, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to H.E. Ambassador Dr. Hans Carl Freiherr von Werthern of Germany in honor of this auspicious occasion. Further, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat added that Afghanistan is always thankful for the long support and assistance of the people and Government of the Federal Republic of Germany over the years. Germany has stood steadfast with Afghanistan during the rebuilding process, helping to bring Afghanistan to its current progress & achievements; close to actualizing peace. In return, H.E. Dr. Freiherr von Werthern conveyed appreciation for H.E. Ambassador Mohabbat’s attendance and reaffirmed that Germany would continue to stand with Afghanistan well into the future and expressed hopes for maintaining good bilateral relations between Germany and Afghanistan.

While at the reception, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with H.E. Mr. Taro Kono, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to whom he expressed sincerest congratulations on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for his reappointment to the position and conveyed his wishes for continued warm and amicable relations between Afghanistan and Japan during his tenure. In return, H.E. Minister Kono thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and reaffirmed that Japan would continue to stand with Afghanistan well into the future. Additionally, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting with others of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, diplomats with missions in Japan, governmental officials, as well as distinguished guests all present in honor of the occasion.
