First Secretary Mr. Hamdard Attends the Democratic Party President’s Election
September 15, 2016: Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary, had the pleasure and honor of attending the meeting to elect the new president of the Democratic Party of Japan.
This was the first election for the party since the merging of the Democratic Party of Japan and the Japan Innovation Party and proved to be an exciting event. Of the three candidates running: the Honorable Ms. Renho, Member of the House of Councillors; the Honorable Mr. Seiji Maehara, Member of the House of Representatives; and Mr. Yuichiro Tamaki, Member of the House of Representatives; Ms. Renho was elected the new party president.
Mr. Hamdard met and spoke with several dignitaries, heads of missions, and other people in attendance such as the Honorable Mr. Kenzo Fujisue, Member of the House of Councillors, and Mr. Sekio Masuta, Member of the House of Representatives, to whom they extended greetings, sincere appreciation for their assistance in the rebuilding process in Afghanistan, and a desire to continue the warm relations between the two countries.
