26/06/2012 Ambassador Fatimie meets with H.E. Ambassador Yamamoto

June 26, 2012: 
Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie was warmly received by H.E. Ambassador Tadamichi Yamamoto, Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, at his office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in Tokyo.

Ambassador Fatimie first took this opportunity to once again express deepest appreciation, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for Japan’s selfless and life-improving efforts towards Afghan peace and development. Recognizing H.E. Ambassador Yamamoto as a relentless champion within Japan’s multi-sector cooperation, Ambassador Fatimie spoke of the great confidence in the success of Japanese initiatives that Afghanistan has knowing that this key individual is involved.

While a number of key issues were discussed, the Ambassadors paid considerable attention to discussing preparations for the upcoming Tokyo Conference on Afghanistan. Japan once again through this conference is proving its unquestionable friendship to Afghans as it will rally some 80 nations and international organizations in support of the Afghan people in the years to come.

25/06/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Participates In Cafe Democrats

June 25, 2015:
Symbolic of the results of continued tireless efforts and significant achievements that have been made in furthering Afghanistan's profile in Japan during the previous four and a half years, which was highlighted when, upon arriving at the hall for the Cafe Democrats meeting, in a rare moment, the Director General of the DPJ's International Department and Member of the House of Councillors The Honorable Mr. Yukihisa Fujita, came forward and personally greeted His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie. The Hon. Mr. Fujita communicated his condemnation to H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie of the recent terrorist attack on Afghanistan's National Assembly and expressed his sincerest condolences to the people of Afghanistan for the deaths and injuries caused and stated that Japan and the DPJ will continue to support Afghanistan. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, his utmost gratitude to The Hon. Mr. Fujita for his comments and support and articulated that terrorism does not respect political or religious boundaries and has no respect for human life.

At the Cafe Democrats event which informs the diplomatic community of the DPJ's domestic and foreign policy agendas, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie also met with the DPJ's Vice Director of the International Department and member of the House of Councillors The Honorable Mr. Hiroe Makiyama, and with Chair of the party's Policy Research Committee and Member of the House of Representatives The Honorable Mr. Goshi Hosono and extended his appreciation, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for Japan and the DPJ's ongoing assistance to Afghanistan's sustainable development.

22/06/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends A Gathering of Afghan Students At Waseda University



June 22, 2015: 
According to the National Unity Government's Triangle of Stability, the base of stability is human capacity and the importance of Afghanistan's youth receiving a solid education cannot be underestimated for the country to achieve self-reliant development and, it was with this in mind that, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie traveled to Waseda University to meet with diligent Afghan students.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie also met with Waseda's Vice President for International Affairs Professor Morita who thanked him for coming and communicated that Waseda would accept more Afghan students in the future. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, his gratitude to Professor Morita and to Waseda for equipping young Afghans with knowledge in order for them to return and contribute to their communities.
Spending two hours with his Afghan brothers and sister, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie warmly encouraged and listened to the hard working students discuss their lives, studies and challenges living in Japan and promised that the Embassy would continue to do everything it can to assist them with their problems. All students appreciated H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie's time and support in what was a special time for everyone involved.

19/06/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Participates in Cambodian Condolence Book Signing Ceremony


June 19, 2015:
It was with a heavy heart that His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie participated in a condolence book signing ceremony to, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, pay his respects to the late President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, His Excellency Mr. Samdech Akka Moha Thamma Pothisal. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his deepest commiserations to His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Monirath Hor, who appreciated his attendance, and to the people of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

June 19, 2015: 
With great sadness, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie attended the condolence book signing ceremony in honor of the passing of the former Prime Minister of Turkey, His Excellency Mr. Suleyman Demirel. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie communicated his sincere condolences to the esteemed Turkish Chargé d'affaires and to the people of Turkey.

June 19, 2015: In what was a day reflecting the juxtaposition of sadness and joy, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie bid farewell to the Embassy's Accountant Ms. Yoko Murakami, after more than eight years of dedicated, qualified and faithful service. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and all Embassy staff, expressed his sincere appreciation for Ms. Murakami's diligent work at the Embassy as an adept professional with an admirable character and wished her the very best for the future.

17/06/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Hosts Reception for Afghan Peace Scholarship Graduates

June 17, 2015:
Education is critical to Afghanistan’s transition to a more politically and economically developed nation. Japan has consistently spared no efforts in providing more learning opportunities for Afghan students and assisting the country to achieve self-reliant advancement through these intellectual Afghan graduates.

This Wednesday, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie delightfully welcomed JICA and JICE officials and three Afghan students graduating from Masters Degrees through the Peace Scholarship program of the Japanese Government to the Embassy.

A wonderful lunch was served, followed by encouraging speeches from H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie, First Secretary Mr. Ahmad Bashir Ghafoori, Ms. Akiko Komori, Officer of the PEACE Project of JICA, and from Pierre. In the presence Mr. Asadullah Azam from the Afghan Student Association, the Afghan graduates presented their academic theses successfully, which not only demonstrates their great accomplishments in relevant fields of studies, and more importantly, symbolizes a brighter tomorrow for Afghanistan’s future path.

Ms. Chiaki Yamagami from JICA’s South Asia Division 2 South Asia Department, Mr. Takafumi Fukai and Ms. Eriko Sanada as Peace Experts from JICE, and Mr. Kazutoshi Yoshino, officer of Peace Project International Student Affair Department were present at the reception to witness the Afghan students’ significant harvest from Japan.

The three graduates’ research all focused on Afghanistan’s current situations and future progress. Their academic achievements in Japan and future leading roles in promoting Afghanistan’s development will be the best compliment that Afghanistan can provide in return for their Japanese friends’ generosity.
