H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed his congratulations in honor of this most auspicious occasion, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to H.E. Dr. Hasan Murat Mercan, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Japan. In return, H.E. Dr. Mercan thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and attendance, while expressing his sincere hope to make more profound the very strong ties between their two countries. In response, H.E. DR. Mohabbat thanked H.E. Mr. Mercan for his kind words and commented on the historically close and brotherly relationship between the two great nations, assuring him that he would also work to deepen and strengthen their close relations.

While at the notable event H.E. September 8, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor of attending a farewell dinner in honor of the departure of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Mr. Ahmet Bülent Meriç at the Turkish Embassy in Tokyo. Also I attendance was Mr. Ahmad Ghafoori, First Secretary and Consul for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The dinner provided the opportunity to celebrate the service of H.E. Ambassador Mr. Meriç during his mission in Japan. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed his thanks, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to H.E. Mr. Ahmet Bülent Meriç, for all of his hard work and success on his mission, thanked the hosts for their warm hospitality and expressed his sincere wishes for the future health and successes on his next endeavors. In return, H.E. Mr. Ahmet Bülent Meriç thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and attendance assuring him that he wished for relations between their two countries to grow more profound and deeper in the future. The two ambassadors further discussed topics of mutual interest such as the recent speeches by leaders of allied nations planning for active steps to achieving further peace and security in Afghanistan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat enjoyed the occasion and held warm discussions with many of the guests including long time friend of Afghanistan the Hon. Mr. Natuso Yamaguchi, president of the Komeito Party; H.E. Dr. Hans Carl von Werthern, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany; other Their Excellencies the Ambassadors with missions in Japan, many diplomats, members of Parliament, and notable members of Japan’s business sector with whom he discussed many topics of mutual interest.

August 16, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor and pleasure of calling a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Ahmet Bülent Meriç, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, at their embassy in Tokyo. Mr. Basir A. Hamdard, First Secretary, accompanied H.E. Dr. Mohabbat.

H.E. Ambassador Mr. Meriç expressed his warm welcome to H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat, and congratulated on the appointment as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Japan. H.E. Mr. Meriç added to wish the success on his career and that the already existing very good, close and brotherly relationship between Afghanistan and Turkey, between diplomats and embassies, even be enhanced.

In response, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed his deep appreciation to H.E. Mr. Meriç for his time, warm welcome, and kind words. Since long time ago, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat noted, Afghanistan and Turkey historically have had very close, brotherly friendship and cooperation. H.E. Ambassador Mohabbat extended his gratitude, on behalf of the people and Government of Afghanistan, to the people and Government of Turkey for years of selfless and generous support to Afghanistan’s reconstruction efforts, which are much appreciated by all Afghans. H.E. Ambassador Meriç noted that Turkey is always on Afghanistan’s side, as it has been, and their mission in Kabul fully and genuinely supports the development of their brotherly country, Afghanistan. He added that Ankara is willing to assist Afghanistan continuously, as well as himself would do so officially and personally. Their Excellencies further discussed the issues of their mutual interest.

His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had a great pleasure of visiting Tokyo Camii, along with the diplomats of the embassy, Afghan residents in the area and other Muslims, for the occasion of the prayer for Eid-al-Adha. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie congratulated the occasion and expressed his wishes for all that they would have a good holiday with good health. At the prayer, H.E. Dr. Fatimie coincided with Captain Murat Erdem, Military Attache stationed at Turkish Embassy in Japan, and communicated, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to express the gratitude for the people and the Government of Turkey that have been a good friend and have contributed to the redevelopment of Afghanistan. Captain Erdem responded with the wish for the holiday, that he appreciates the H.E. Dr. Fatimie’ s kind words and he wishes even better friendship of Turkey and Afghanistan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the pleasure of attending the opening ceremony of the Yunus Emre Calligraphy Exhibition and the subsequent reception celebrating the Victory Day of Turkey at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Tokyo. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie congratulated the Turkish Ambassador Mr. A. Bulent Meric for the occasion, and expressed his gratitude of what close friend Turkey has been to Afghanistan, to which in return the Turkish Ambassador H.E. Mr. A. Bulent Meric expressed his wish for Afghanistan to prosper in peace.

H.E. Ambassador also had the honor of meeting some of the distinguished guests, including Honorable Ms. Kanae Yamamoto, State Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, Member of the House of Representative; Mr. Hironobu Narisawa, Mayor of Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Mr. Deha Erpek, Minister Counsellor, and Mr. Suat Aydin, Economic Cousellor, both from the Turkish Embassy; Professor Tadashi Suzuki of the University of Tokyo; and Honorable Ambassadors of various friendly countries, from whom H.E. July 17, 2015:
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the pleasure of joining H.E. Ambassador Ahmet Bülent Meriç of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Ambassador Senkoun Sylla of the Republic of Guinea, and a number of fellow Afghans in the celebration of the first day of Eid al-Fitr at a Turkish Mosque. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie wished for the happiness and prosperity of H.E. Ambassador Ahmet Bülent Meriç, H.E. Ambassador Senkoun Sylla, and other participants, including Afghan students and other Afghans who joined the Eid’s prayers, on this joyous occasion.

July 8, 2015:

It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie to attend the Iftar Dinner at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey during the most Holy Month of Ramadan. H.E. Ambassador Ahmet Bülent Meriç, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, warmly welcomed H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and expressed his gratitude for attending the event during which mutual issues were discussed among the Ambassadors.

Along with wonderful meal, strong brotherhood interaction between both nations and their bright future were mentioned. H.E. Ambassador Meriç also assured that Turkey will continue to support Afghanistan as a brother country.

In response, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie, on behalf of the People and Government of Afghanistan, deeply expressed his gratitude for Turkey to support the reconstruction of Afghanistan, especially through troops putting all their energy in order to improve safety and security in Afghanistan.

The reception of the Turkish Frigate TCG Gediz’s visit to Tokyo offers a vital opportunity for Afghanistan to associate itself with other countries on the international stage in regards for common concerns and development. As a wonderful chance to promote harmonious relationship between Turkey and Afghanistan, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the great pleasure of meeting with the esteemed Ambassador of Turkey, H.E. Mr. Ahmet Bulent Meric and the Flag Officer of TCG Gediz Admiral Radm Namik Alper, who is also the representative of the Turkish Naval Force. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his utmost appreciation to Admiral Alper for the Turkish service personnel who have sacrificed their lives protecting freedom and democracy, a sacrifice that will never be forgotten by the people of Afghanistan.

In maintaining Afghanistan’s continuously warm relations with The Imperial Family of Japan, H.E. March 16, 2015: Turkey holds a high reputation among the people of Afghanistan for their efforts in the reconstruction and peaceful development of the country. With the view that peaceful development based on mutual consensus, consent and the equal and fair sharing of global wealth, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, His Excellency Dr. Numan Kurtulmus, presented a lecture titled, "A New World Peace is Possible: The Contribution of Islamic Civilization". H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie took the opportunity to, on behalf of the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, thank the people and Government of Turkey for supporting Afghanistan. In response H.E. Dr. Numan Kurtulmus expressed that Turkey would continue to support bringing peace to Afghanistan. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie also expressed His gratitude to the esteemed Ambassador of Turkey, His Excellency Mr. Ahmet Bulent Meric, for His invitation to what was a highly relevant and insightful event.
