Attendance at Iftar Dinner Hosted by the Governor of Tokyo, H.E. Ms. Yuriko Koike.

May 29, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attended an Iftar Dinner reception hosted by the Governor of Tokyo, H.E. Ms. Yuriko Koike during Tokyo Networking Night with Islamic missions at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. All ambassadors and Chargé d'affaires from embassies of Islamic countries were invited to the Governor's office for the dinner reception breaking of the fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat had the honor of meeting and speaking once again with H.E. Governor Ms. Koike to whom he expressed sincerest thanks and appreciation on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for Japan’s steadfast and benevolent support over the years. In return, H.E. Governor Ms. Koike thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and assured him that Japan would continue to stand with Afghanistan well into the future as it strives for progress, prosperity, and peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. Moreover, H.E. Governor Koike stated that she was very much looking forward to the strong team of Afghan Athletes who would be representing Afghanistan in the upcoming Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games in 2020. Dr. Mohabbat assured her that Afghanistan would be sending her brightest and most talented athletes on the National Olympic and Paralympic team who he had every assurance would represent the country well while competing here in Japan.

While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the opportunity to meet with other of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors from Islamic countries, Chargé d'affaires, and other distinguished guests invited by H.E. Governor Koike to partake in the breaking of the fast and sharing of an Iftar meal.

July 10, 2015:

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the honor to attend the Iftar dinner at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, during which H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his deepest gratitude for the invitation. In return, H.E. Ambassador Farukh Amil of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan thanked H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie for his presence. Issues of mutual interest were discussed among the ambassadors in a very pleasant manner as Iftar is an occasion to share common values within the diversity of the Muslim world.

July 8, 2015:

It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie to attend the Iftar Dinner at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey during the most Holy Month of Ramadan. H.E. Ambassador Ahmet Bülent Meriç, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, warmly welcomed H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and expressed his gratitude for attending the event during which mutual issues were discussed among the Ambassadors.

Along with wonderful meal, strong brotherhood interaction between both nations and their bright future were mentioned. H.E. Ambassador Meriç also assured that Turkey will continue to support Afghanistan as a brother country.

In response, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie, on behalf of the People and Government of Afghanistan, deeply expressed his gratitude for Turkey to support the reconstruction of Afghanistan, especially through troops putting all their energy in order to improve safety and security in Afghanistan.

30/06/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Meets With H.E. Prime Minister Abe at Iftar Reception

June 30, 2015:

His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the honor of meeting with His Excellency Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at a reception hosted by the Prime Minister in relation to Iftar during the most Holy Month of Ramadan. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie communicated that His Excellency President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah had both conveyed their very best regards to him and had expressed their gratitude to him for Japan's magnanimous support. In return, H.E. Prime Minister Abe expressed his thanks and best wishes to H.E. President Ghani and to H.E. Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie also met with the President of the governing LDP's partner party Komieto, and long time friend of Afghanistan, His Excellency Mr. Natsuo Yamaguchi, the Director-General of MoFA Japan's Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau The Honorable Mr. Tsukasa Uemura, the Deputy Director-General of African Affairs Department in the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau The Honorable Mr. Ken Okaniwa, and the Senior Vince-Minister of Cabinet Office The Honorable Mr. Yasutoshi Nishimura and issues of mutual interest were discussed. The Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs The Honorable Mr. Kentaro Sonoura was particularly interested in Afghanistan's current situation and expressed that he prays for peace and stability in the country.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie met with numerous members of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, including with The Honorable Mr. Ichiro Kanke, The Honorable Mr. Akiba Kenya, The Honorable Colonel Masahisa Sato, and The Honorable Mr. Masahisa Sato.
