Mr. Agah thanked both Ms. Araki and Ms. Ogawa for taking the time to meet and for the United Nations continuous and substantive assistance it has provided during the rebuilding process of Afghanistan. Ms. Araki and Ms. Ogawa returned their gratitude to Mr. Agah and thanked him for the kind words and assured him that the United Nations would continue to support Afghanistan in every way possible, well into the future. They further discussed scholarship opportunities for Afghan students entering both highly competitive fields within the Masters and Ph.D. programs at the United Nations University. Mr. Agah understands the competitiveness and will strive to encourage stronger candidates from Afghanistan by contacting the Ministry of Higher Education in Afghanistan. Ms. Araki and Ms. Ogawa believe that this will increase the likelihood of successful scholarship awards for Afghan students in the future.
