Attendance at the European Day Reception.

May 10, 2018: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the pleasure of attending the reception in honor of Europe Day at the Europa House in Tokyo.

As the European Union and its member states have been key partners in Afghanistan’s road towards peace and development, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed his sincerest congratulations to H.E. Ambassador Mr. Viorel Isticioaia-Budura of the European Union on this auspicious occasion. Offering, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, deepest gratitude for the invaluable, selfless, and effect-generating role that Europe has played in Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also expressed that the roots for peace that have been laid in Afghanistan by the European Union and international partners will spread throughout the region. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat further expressed solemn gratitude for the sacrifices extended by the citizens of the Union to achieve these gains.

H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with long time personal friend and friend to Afghanistan, H.E. Mr. Natsuo Yamaguchi, Chief Representative of the Komei Party to whom he expressed his warm thanks to the people and Government of the noble nation and people of Japan for their tireless support. Among other key dignitaries in attendance with whom H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of greeting were the Hon. Mr. Nobuteru Ishihara, Member of the House of Representatives and former Minister of State for Economy and Fiscal Policy; H.E. Mr. Laurent Pic, Ambassador of the French Republic to Japan; H.E. Mr. Gonzalo de Benito Secades, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain; as well as many others of Their excellencies the Ambassadors, diplomats with missions in Japan, members of parliament, and other guests.
