February 23, 2020: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat was honored with the opportunity to attend the 60th birthday ceremony of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan, which is also the National Day of Japan, at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
Considering the excellent and historical relations between the two nations and the personal roles of Their Majesties the Imperial Family of Japan, this annual celebration is considered to be a most celebratory occasion. Having the opportunity to personally greet His Majesty the Emperor, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat conveyed, on behalf of H.E. President Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, and the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, sincerest congratulations, and wishes for happiness and fulfillment in what is hoped to be a long and prosperous life. In addition, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed to His Majesty the Emperor the gratitude of the aforementioned for the noble nation of Japan’s effect-generating cooperation that has been extended to Afghanistan.
H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the further honor of interacting with other members of Their Imperial Highnesses of the Imperial Family and conveying congratulations to them as well. As the event was also attended by all the heads of the missions from around the world stationed in Tokyo, along with their respected spouses, H.E. Ambassador Mohabbat also had the pleasure to greet them.

Particularly, it was a great honor and pleasure of H.E. The people of Afghanistan have cherished memories of Their Imperial Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan's six day state visit to Afghanistan in 1971 which acted to further the ties of friendship enjoyed between the two countries.

June 19, 2014: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie and Mrs. Fatimie had the great honor to attend a luncheon hosted by Their Majesties the Emperor and the Empress of Japan on at the Imperial Palace. The luncheon was organized to welcome the Ambassadors and Ambassadresses of four nations represented in Japan.

In the course of the luncheon, the Ambassador was kindly extended the opportunity to express, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, heartfelt gratitude for the life-bettering cooperation provided by Japan, under the leadership of Their Excellencies, to Afghanistan’s peace and development. Their Majesties graciously in turn expressed appreciation for Afghanistan’s contributions following the disasters of March 2011. The parties were then able to speak on reflections of Afghanistan and other issues of mutual interest.

March 2, 2011: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimi and Madame Wahida Fatimie received a special, warm welcome by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
The Emperor, who has recently suffered from a heart condition, offered appreciation for previous messages of support from H.E. President Hamid Karzai and the Ambassador, and explained that his health is now much improved.
Ambassador Fatimie took the occasion to express gratitude, on behalf of the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to Their Majesties for the generous and selfless support that Japan has provided in the reconstruction and development of the nation, particularly in socio-economic areas. The Ambassador assured Their Majesties that these contributions will never be forgotten and that relations between the two noble nations and peoples would continue forever.
Their Majesties, having been impressed by Afghanistan and Afghans during Their visit in 1971 and knowledgeable about developments since, showed great interest in Ambassador Fatimie’s briefing on the current situation in Afghanistan. His Majesty the Emperor enquired about security developments, reacting positively to the Ambassador’s explanation that hundreds had recently joined in the Peace Process.
Their Majesties offered their best regards to H.E. President Hamid Karzai. The Emperor and Empress offered their wishes for peace, stability, and happiness for Afghanistan, and reaffirmed Their continued dedication and personal concern for the nation and people. Ambassador and Madame Fatimie in turn wished His Majesty sound health and Japan prosperity.
This is the third time that Ambassador Fatimie has met with His Majesty the Emperor since assuming his current post.

December 27, 2010: Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie was welcomed at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo by H.M. the Emperor of Japan in order to present his credentials as the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Japan.

During his time with His Majesty, Ambassador Fatimie took the opportunity to express his gratitude, on behalf of H.E. President Hamid Karzai and the people of Afghanistan, for the generous and selfless support that Japan has provided during Afghanistan’s reconstruction and development.
