His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had a
pleasure of welcoming the courtesy call to the embassy by H.E. Ms. Rabab
Fatima, Ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. H.E.
Ambassador Dr. Fatimie congratulated H.E. Ambassador Ms. Fatima of her
new appointment and arrival to Japan, and pointed out the good bilateral
relation between Afghanistan and Bangladesh. H.E. Dr. Fatimie also
added that he hopes it will be maintained in the future. In response,
H.E. Ms. Fatima thanked H.E. Dr. Fatimie of his warm welcome, and she,
too, agreed to work onto carry on the good tie between the two
countries. She mentioned that the frequent consultation between Their
Excellencies Ambassadors to underline the smooth communication. H.E.
Ambassador Dr. Fatimie gladly agreed to keep regular meetings.

22/02/2016 H.E. Ambassador Attends the 55th National Day and 25th Anniversary of the Liberation of the State of Kuwait
February 22, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed
Mohammad Amin Fatimie had a pleasure in attending the reception of the
55th National Day and 25th Anniversary of the Liberation of the State of
Kuwait. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie extended his congratulations for
the occasion to H.E. Ambassador Mr. Abdul Rahman Humood Al-Otaibi, and
the diplomats attended, on behalf of people and the Government of the
Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Their Excellencies expressed and agreed
to work closely to maintain and for the betterment of the bilateral
relationship.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie also had an honor and pleasure in meeting
with H.E. Ms. Miki Yamada, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign
Affairs, and a Member of the House of Representative. H.E. Dr. Fatimie
phrased that by representing people and the Government of Afghanistan,
he expressed the appreciation to Japanese government for the continuing
support to Afghanistan. Among many distinguished guests attended to
celebrate the reception, H.E. Ambassador also had a pleasure and honor

17/02/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Welcomes the Visit of MSF to the Embassy
February 17th, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad
Amin Fatimie had the pleasure of meeting with staffs of NPO Medecins
Sans Frontieres (MSF) Japon, Mr. Jérémie Bodin (General Director), Dr.
Clara Van Gulik (Humanitarian Affairs Representative) and Ms. Yoshino
Horikoshi (Institutional Partnership Officer) at the embassy. Mr.
Abdulzaman Akbari, third secretary, also attended the meeting. H.E.
Ambassador Dr. Fatimie welcomed them warmly, and expressed on behalf of
people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, his
heartfelt appreciation to MSF members worldwide, particularly in
Afghanistan, for their tireless and selfless efforts of life-saving
activities since the restoration of democracy in the country. As H.E.
Dr. Fatimie was previously a Public Health Minister, their intense
medical missions at institutions such as Ahmad Shah Baba hospital in
Kabul, Trauma centre in Kunduz, Khost maternity hospital and Boost
hospital in Helmand were acknowledged.
They have discussed issues of mutual interest and preparation for the
further cooperation, which both sides indicated that they would be
looking forward to working on the partnership.

February 17, 2016: Mr. Mohammad Yasir Karimi, Second Secretary and Ms. Namie Imanishi, Commercial/Economic Assistant welcomed Mr. Yoshihiko Shimizu, President of Omoigawa Butsuryu Co., Ltd. to the Embassy. Mr. Shimizu’s company has been engaged in trade business for the past 27 years, mainly exporting new and used tires, construction/agricultural machineries, cars, motor bikes, bicycles and other merchandise to respond to requests from the customers in various countries. The company is interested in expanding their business opportunities in Afghanistan as well. The Embassy is happy to provide information accordingly.

February 15, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad
Amin Fatimie had a great pleasure of meeting with Dr. Bashir Mohabbat,
an Adviser to H.E. Ambassador and former Counsellor at the embassy. They
discussed issues of their mutual interests regarding Afghanistan and
its relations with Japan under an amicable atmosphere. It was also a joy
for the embassy to welcome the former colleague's visit.
12/02/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends a Reception for introduction of Kyoto Culture and Charm
February 12, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad
Amin Fatimie had a pleasure and an honor in meeting again the Honorable
Mayor Mr. Daisaku Kadokawa of Kyoto City at the Reception for
introduction of Kyoto Culture and Charm held in Tokyo. H.E. Ambassador
Dr. Fatimie and Mayor Kadokawa communicated by following up their last
meeting in Kyoto. Additionally, H.E. Dr. Fatimie congratulated Mayor
Kadokawa for his continued success of the mayorship. In response, the
Mayor expressed his appreciation and his wish that the relation between
Kyoto and Afghanistan will be strengthened.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie also had an honor in meeting H.E. Mr.
Masakazu Hamachi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, and a
Member of the House of Representatives at the reception. H.E.
Ambassador expressed, on behalf of people and the Government of the
Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the appreciation for Japan's
comprehensive and impact generating projects that has helped
Afghanistan's reconstruction. H.E. Parliamentary Vice-Minister Hamachi
responded that Japan has been and will be supporting Afghanistan.

of diplomatic missions and distinguished guests, including H.E. Dr.

February 10, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed
Mohammad Amin Fatmie had a pleasure of attending the reception for the
37th Anniversary of the Victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran. H.E.
Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his congratulations, on behalf of
people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to
H.E. Ambassador Mr. Reza Nazar Ahari of the I.R. of Iran, and the
attending diplomats, and his wishes the neighboring Afghanistan and Iran
will maintain a friendly relationship. H.E. Ambassador Ahari
appreciated the words by H.E. Dr. Fatimie and his attendance, and
Ambassador Ahari also expressed that two countries' cooperations are
much expected.
The reception was attended by many Members of the House of
Representatives and Councillors, Japanese officials, Their Excellencies
Ambassadors and distinguished guests, including whom H.E. Dr. Fatimie

9/02/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends Kagawa Prefecture Promotion Reception
February 09, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad
Amin Fatimie had a pleasure of attending Kagawa Prefecture Promotion
Reception, co-hosted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Kagawa
Prefecture, at Iikura House. The reception, opened by speech of H.E. Mr.
Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs, was held based on Japanese
government's policy to promote its local governments' various appeal
points to the world by utilizing the facility of Foreign Ministry.
Kagawa Prefecture's capital, Takamatsu city, has been designated to host
G7 ICT Ministers' Meeting on April 29th and 30th.
It was an honor and pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie to meet
with the Honorable Governor Mr. Keizo Hamada of Kagawa Prefecture. H.E.
Dr. Fatimie expressed his appreciation, on behalf of people and the
Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for the support to
Afghanistan, and expectation that the linkage between Afghanistan and
Kagawa Prefecture will be strengthened. Honorable Governor Mr. Hamada
appreciated H.E. Ambassador's words, and he, too, wished the relation
will be closer.

February 04, 2016: It was an honor and pleasure for His
Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie to meet again with
the Honorable Madam Sadako Ogata, former Japan International
Cooperation Agency's president and current Special Advisor, at JICA
Headquarter. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his gratitude and
appreciation to Madam Ogata and JICA, on behalf of people and the
Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for their continuous
dedication in supporting Afghanistan. H.E. Dr. Fatimie added that their
projects, PEACE scholarship in particular, has been an impact generating
program in the field of human capacity building. As a result, many of
the graduates have shown performance improvements in various sectors.
Subsequently, H.E. Ambassador and Madam Ogata discussed many other
issues of their mutual interest.

February 03, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad
Amin Fatimie had a pleasure of attending Sports and Cultural Exchange
Reception hosted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science
and Technology (MEXT) of Japan. The event was held to promote newly
established Japan Sports Agency, and the related events which will be
held in near future under the ministry's policies by exchanging sports
and cultural activities. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had an honor and
pleasure during the reception of meeting H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Hase, Minister
of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (pictured above);
H.E. Mr. Hiroyuki Yoshiie, State Minister (pictured below); H.E.
Shigeru Douko, Parliamentary Vice-Minister; and H.E. Mr. Daichi Suzuki
(Ph.D), Commissioner of Japan Sports Agency.
It was also an honor and pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie to
exchange words with H.E. Ms. Mayuko Toyoda, Parliamentary Vice-Minister,
regarding health policies as both of them have the background being
medical/public health experts.
Additionally, H.E. Dr. Fatimie had a pleasure of conversing with H.E.
Mr. Masanori Aoyagi, Commissioner of Agency for Cultural Affairs-Japan;
and Mr. Keisuke Isogai (Ph.D), Director-General, Commissioner's
Secretariat, who have been closely working on the "Hidden Treasurs -from
the National Museum, Kabul" exhibition taking place at Kyushu National
Museum since January 1st until February 14th, and at Tokyo National
Museum from April 12th to June 19th this year.

February 03, 2016: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin
Fatimie had a meeting in the Embassy with Mr. Habib Gulzar, Chairman of
Habib Gulzar Group in Kabul, Messrs. Mr. Ko Nakagawa, Project General
Manager of Automotive Planning Department and Mr. Shunsuke Morikawa of
Middle East & South West Asia Automative Department of Toyota Tsusho
Corporation.
The Habib Gulzar Motors, which is a member company of Habib Gulzar
Group, is the exclusive distributor of Toyota Motor Corporation in
Afghanistan. Mr. Gulzar explained about his company’s automotive
business in Afghanistan in anticipation of increasing sales volume this
year. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie gave him best wishes for continued
success and assured him of the Embassy’s cooperation.
Messrs. Mohammad Yasir Karimi, Second Secretary and Abdul Zaman Akbari, Third Secretary were alto attending the meeting.

2/02/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Welcomes the Embassy Visit by Executive Director Mr. Seth of UNITAR
February 02, 2016: It was a pleasure for His Excellency
Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie to welcome the embassy visit
by Mr. Nikhil Seth, Executive Director of the United Nations Institute
for Training and Research (UNITAR); and Ms. Mihoko Kumamoto, Head of
UNITAR Hiroshima Office. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his
gratitude to Mr. Seth and Ms. Kumamoto, on behalf of people and the
Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for UNITAR's
continuous support on Afghans' capacity building projects, which have
been effective and made positive impacts on training of its officials.
For their inevitable role in the reconstruction of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr.
Fatimie presented the appreciation letter to Mr. Seth.
Mr. Seth appreciated the hospitality H.E. the Ambassador and the embassy
has shown to them, and noted that the capacity building project will be
continued, and suggested that 20-30% of new participants be females in
order to promote the improvement and empowerment of women in official
positions. H.E. Ambassador responded that the embassy will inform that
to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the further coordination.

February 01, 2016: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad
Amin Fatimie had a great pleasure of welcoming the embassy visit by Mr.
Jason Pratt, former Public Relations Officer of the embassy, and the
students from his classes at Tokai University and Tamagawa Gakuen
University. Currently a lecturer, Mr. Pratt took his colleague, Mr.
Hiroyuki Fujimaki of Tokai University, and his students to the embassy
visit as a part of their study tour.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie warmly welcomed all visitors and expressed
his gratitude of their interests in studying Afghanistan with such an
effective former PR Officer, Mr. Pratt, and wished kindly to each one of
them a success in their future, as well as for a closer, friendly
relationship between Afghan and Japanese young generation like
themselves.
Followed by the embassy tour, Mr. M. Yasir Karimi (second secretary) sat
with the visitors to experience a part of Afghan culture, and answer
students' questions regarding Afghanistan to deepen their understanding
and familiarity.
