Luncheon Meeting with the Afghan Students' Union in Japan.
November 13, 2019: His Excellency the Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the pleasure of hosting a luncheon with six Afghan students in the Afghan Students Union of Japan, notably the outgoing and incoming President of the Afghan Student Union in Japan. This luncheon was also attended by the diplomats of the Embassy.
The students have the opportunity to study in Japan through programs such as JICA’s PEACE project, Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) Scholarships, and the Japan Foundation endowments. The Embassy recognizes the importance of education for the future of the Islamic Republic’s mission towards self-sustainability, so it is pleased to be able to continue to support the future of our nation. This luncheon was hosted by the Embassy to recognize the achievements of the outgoing President of the Afghan Students Union in Japan, welcome the successor into the role for the next year, and to discuss opportunities and concerns of the Afghan students studying in Japan.
