Attendance at the 2019 Presentation Ceremony for the Japan Foundation Awards.
November 7, 2019: It was an pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the reception to celebrate the 2019 Presentation Ceremony for The Japan Foundation Awards hosted by Hon. Mr. Hiroyasu Ando, President of The Japan Foundation, at the Hotel Okura in Tokyo.
The event honored three recipients who have significantly contributed to the promotion of international mutual understanding and friendship through their various endeavors over the years. This year’s recipients were Mr. Shuntaro Tanikawa, a poet from Japan; Association of Indonesian Alumni From Japan (PERSADA), a friendship organization linking the cultures of Japan and Indonesia; and Prof. Ewa Palasz-Rutkowska, Professor of Japanese Studies at University of Warsaw.
H.E. Dr. Mohabbat took the opportunity to extend his warmest thanks to Hon. President Mr. Hiroyasu Ando of the Japan Foundation for hosting the successful event. Further, he expressed his sincerest thanks, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for the continuous benevolent support of the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan over the years and for the generous programs sponsored by The Japan Foundation, such as the Japanese-Language Programs for Foreign-Service Officers & Public Officials, of which several of the Embassy’s past diplomats have partaken in. In return, Hon. Mr. Ando thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words, attendance at the event, and assured him that the Japan Foundation would continue to have enrichment programs that will help Afghanistan continue its progress.
While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the opportunity to greet several of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, Heads of Missions, and diplomats with missions in Japan, and other dignified guests all present in honor of the occasion.
