September 11, 2017: His Excellency Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the pleasure of receiving a courtesy call by Mr. Keiichi Hara, the newly apointed Minister for the Embassy of Japan in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo. Also in attendance were Mr. Ahmad Bashir Ghafoori, First Secretary and Consul, and Mr. Basir Hamdard, First Secretary for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic in Afghanistan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat extended His warm welcome and articulated His appreciation for Mr. Hara’s kind visit, congratulating him on his new appointment as Minister for the Embassy of Japan in Afghanistan and wishing him every success as he begins his new endeavors. Mr. Hara expressed his sincere thanks for his warm welcome and the well wishes of H.E. Dr. Mohabbat. Additionally he in turn congratulated H.E. Dr. Mohabbat on His appointment as new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Japan wishing him too the greatest of success in His accomplishments during His mission, emphasizing that he was certain to do so due to H.E. Dr. Mohabbat’s in depth experience and profound insight in Japan.

H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked Mr. Hara for his kind words, and on behalf of the people and Government of Afghanistan, extended his gratitude for the long support and assistance of the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan. Japan has stood with Afghanistan during the rebuilding process, helping to bring Afghanistan to its current progress & achievements, and their help to develop the human capacity through programs such as the PEACE Program, and like others from the international community hold a place of appreciation and honor in the heart of Afghans. Additionally H.E. Dr. Mohabbat updated Mr. Hara on the many progressive achievements in Afghanistan over the past 15 years especially those undertaken since the formation of the National Unity Government, thanks in part to the assistance of the noble nation of Japan. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also expressed optimism for the relationship between Japan and Afghanistan becoming stronger. They further discussed topics of mutual interest such as the recent speeches by leaders of allied nations planning for active steps to achieving further peace and security in Afghanistan.
