Farewell Dinner for H.E. Ambassador of Turkey

September 8, 2017: Mr. Ahmad Ghafoori, First Secretary and Consul for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, had the honor and pleasure of accompanying His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat during a farewell dinner in honor of the departure of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Mr. Ahmet Bülent Meriç at the Turkish Embassy in Tokyo.
The dinner provided the opportunity to celebrate the service of H.E. Ambassador Mr. Meriç during his mission in Japan. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat and Mr. Ghafoori expressed their thanks, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to H.E. Mr. Ahmet Bülent Meriç, for all of his hard work and success on his mission, thanked the hosts for their warm hospitality and expressed his sincere wishes for the future health and successes on his next endeavors. In return, H.E. Mr. Ahmet Bülent Meriç thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and attendance assuring him that he wished for relations between their two countries to grow more profound and deeper in the future. The gentlemen further discussed topics of mutual interest such as the recent speeches by leaders of allied nations planning for active steps to achieving further peace and security in Afghanistan.
H.E. Dr. Mohabbat and Mr. Ghafoori enjoyed the occasion and held warm discussions with many of the guests including long time friend of Afghanistan the Hon. Mr. Natuso Yamaguchi, president of the Komeito Party; H.E. Dr. Hans Carl von Werthern, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany; other Their Excellencies the Ambassadors with missions in Japan, many diplomats, members of Parliament, and notable members of Japan’s business sector with whom he discussed many topics of mutual interest.
