Attendance at Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Peace Day Memorial Ceremony.

March 10, 2018: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat had the honor of attending a memorial ceremony in honor of the occasion of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Peace Day at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.

This annual memorial service is quite as pertinent to Afghanistan and the rest of the world, as to Japan, and seeks to increase public awareness of the need for peace and to reflect on the suffering caused by war. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat took this great opportunity to join the international community and Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, Diplomats with missions in Japan present at the event, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, which advocates the promotion of peace and asks that all governments around the world endeavor to stand united so that peace can be achieved.

March 10, 2017: Applicable to both Afghanistan and Japan, the Tokyo Metropolitan Peace Day is an annual memorial ceremony which seeks to increase public awareness of the need for peace and to reflect on the suffering caused by war. His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie took the honor to join this great opportunity to represent Afghanistan, which pushed the promotions for peace and kindly demanded all governments around the world to take in hand to strive and prosper the achievement that can be born from the peace.

Specifically, connecting with the government leaders of Japan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had a delighted time to have met and spoke with the Governor of Tokyo H.E. Ms. Yuriko Koike, the President of the Metropolitan Assembly of Tokyo The Honorable Mr. Kawai Shigeo, Representative of the victims of the bombing of Tokyo Excellencies Mr. Mimura Eiichi, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua H. E. Mr. Saul Arana Castellon and many other esteemed political figures.

Surrounded by powerful people from around the world, including being seated next to Ambassador of the United States Her Excellency Mrs. Caroline Kennedy, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Fatimie took this valuable opportunity to represent Afghanistan at the very center of a setting which not only promoted peace but demanded it as a standard to which all governments around the world should strive to achieve.
