August 24th, 2018: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the great pleasure meeting with Hon. Mr. Nobuteru Ishihara, the Chairman of the Parliamentary League of Japan, E.U., France, the Philippines, and Palau, former Minister of Economic Revitalization, former Minister in charge of Total Reform of Social Security and Tax, former Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy, member of the House of Representatives in Japan, and longtime friend of Afghanistan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat extended his sincerest gratitude to Hon. Mr. Nobuteru Ishihara, on behalf of the people and Government of Afghanistan, his appreciation for the enduring support and assistance of Japan to Afghanistan. Hon. Mr. Nobuteru Ishihara, in turn, thanked H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat for taking the time out of his schedule to meet and conveyed his appreciation for his visit. H.E Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat and Hon. Mr. Nobuteru Ishihara expressed their wishes to continue fostering strong connections between both countries and were looking forward to more strong relations in the future between Afghanistan and Japan.

First Secretary of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard was also in attendance. Both extend their appreciation for the meeting and look forward to future engagements between Japan and Afghanistan.

June 26, 2018: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor and pleasure of hosting a lunch meeting with Hon. Mr. Nobuteru Ishihara, the Chairman of the Parliamentary League of Japan, E.U., France, the Philippines, and Palau, former Minister of Economic Revitalization, former Minister in charge of Total Reform of Social Security and Tax, and former Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy; and Hon. Mr. Hirotaka Ishihara, former State Minister of the Cabinet Office and former Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan; both currently members of the House of Representatives Japan, and both long time friends of the embassy and Afghanistan, at the Ambassador's residence inside the embassy. Also in Attendance were Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary; Dr. Rahim Azimi, First Secretary; Mr. Asif Agah; Second Secretary; and Mr. Abdulzaman Akbari, Third Secretary, all representing the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo.

It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to meet and host lunch at the embassy for Hon. Mr. Nobuteru Ishihara and Hon. Mr. Hirotaka Ishihara. Both thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for making time in his schedule to meet and expressed their sincere gratitude to for his warm welcome as well as the delicious meal of Afghan dishes that was provided. In return H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked them for their kind words and expressed his appreciation for their visit. Further, and on behalf of the people and Government of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat, extended his gratitude for the long support and assistance of the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan which has stood alongside Afghanistan throughout crucial periods. Both Hon. Messrs. Ishihara expressed their wishes and continued optimism for the growing relations between Afghanistan and Japan well into the future.
