June 29, 2019: It was a pleasure for His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the luncheon reception celebrating Independence Day for the United States of America hosted by the Tokyo American Club.

Each year, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat has the distinct pleasure of being one of the only Ambassadors with a mission in Japan to join the celebration of the United States of America's Independence Day hosted by the Tokyo American Club. On behalf of the people and Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed sincerest congratulations on this most auspicious occasion to Mr. Jim Mori, Governor of the Tokyo American Club and Group Chairman In return, Mr. Mori thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance and kind words. Furthermore, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat extended his gratitude for the support and assistance of the people and Government of the United States of America over the years as Afghanistan has striven for progress, prosperity, and peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process.

While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the honor of meeting and speaking with the Mr. Michael Alfant, former representative Governor of the Tokyo American Club, as well as other notable members of society, and with other distinguished guests, all of whom were present in honor of the occasion.

June 27, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to host a dinner reception in honor of the Visit to Japan by Afghan Delegation of Upper House Parliamentary Members Hon. Ms. Fatima Akbari , Hon. Ms. Nabia Mustafazada, and Dr. Sadruddin Tajik, Kabul Municipality’s Deputy Mayor, at the Embassy’s Rumi Balkhi Hall. All of the Diplomats and staff were present to receive the honored guests for the evening’s festivities.

The evening’s Emcee Mr. AbdulHameed Hashimi, Third Secretary, welcomed each speaker to give their remarks. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat first began by thanking the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan for their most benevolent and gracious support over the years in the redevelopment of Afghanistan. Further in his speech he highlighted the wonderful projects of infrastructural development and civil works Japan’s governmental agencies such as JICA have aided with. This was followed by remarks from Dr. Sadruddin Tajik, Deputy Mayor of Kabul Municipality who remarked on the beautification and development Kabul Municipality has undertaken.

Remarks were also given by Mr. Toshiyuki Iwama, Representative of the JICA Kabul Office who spoke on the magnificent collaboration and partnership between the two nations of Afghanistan and Japan in bringing projects to fruition. This was followed by remarks from Mr. Toru Hashimoto, Executive Director of the Development Cooperation of Yokohama City who likened the symbiotic sharing’s enduring heritage to the old adage, “You can give a man to fish and he will eat for a day. You can teach a man to fish and he can eat for a lifetime.”

Following all of the remarks and a group photo to commemorate the event, guests were invited to dine on traditional Afghan cuisine which was prepared by the Embassy in honor of the guests’ visit.

長谷川東京都副知事をカブール市副市長のタジクさんと共に訪問

2019年6月27日: 東京メトロポリタンビルで仕事をしている東京都副知事、長谷川明さんをカブール市の副市長、サドラディン・タジクさんと共に訪問することは、バシール・モハバット特命全権大使にとって喜ばしいことでした。

長谷川副知事はあたたかくタジク副市長とモハバット大使を迎え入れ、今回の訪問に感謝をしました。タジク副市長とモハバット大使はアフガニスタン・イスラム共和国の国民と政府を代表して、日本の国民と政府に感謝を述べ、特にアフガニスタンの進歩、繁栄、平和に長年にわたる東京のしっかりとした心優しい援助に感謝を表しました。長谷川副知事はタジク副市長とモハバット大使のあたたかい言葉に感謝をし、今後も東京がアフガニスタンへの援助を続けることを約束されました。

さらに、東京とアフガニスタンが似たような歴史を共有してきたことで東京は戦後も成長し、復興が進み、経済が強化されました。タジク副市長とモハバット大使は、東京の過去の教えからカブール市に役立つ多くの事例や発想を得ることができることを述べられました。したがって、タジク副市長はアフガニスタンの首都カブール市は今後も長谷川東京都副知事と小池東京都知事によるさらなる援助と交流に期待していると述べられました。長谷川副知事は東京がカブール市の発展に役立つこと、またタジク副市長の日本での旅が楽しく、実りのあるものであることを願っておられました。長谷川副知事とタジク副市長、モハバット大使は関連や関心のある話題についても話し合いをされました。

June 27, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to of accompany Dr. Sadruddin Tajik, Deputy Mayor of Kabul Municipality, to pay a visit to Mr. Akira Hasegawa, Vice Governor of Tokyo at his office within the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.

Vice Governor Mr. Hasegawa warmly welcomed Dr. Tajik and H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat thanking them for asking to meet with him. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dr. Tajik and H.E. Dr. Mohabbat gave thanks to the people and Government Japan, especially those of the capital Tokyo, for their steadfast and benevolent support over the years as Afghanistan has striven for progress prosperity, and peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. Vice Governor Mr. Hasegawa thanked Dr. Tajik and H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for their kind words and assured them that Tokyo would continue to support Afghanistan well into the future.

Further, as Tokyo and Afghanistan have shared similar pasts, with Tokyo emerging victoriously and advancing from destruction economically strengthened following war, Dr. Tajik and H.E. Dr. Mohabbat remarked how much of an example it could serve to Kabul and how much inspiration they could derive from its lessons. Therefore, Dr. Tajik stated that Afghanistan and her capital city Kabul very much looked forward to further assistance and involvement from Vice Governor Hasegawa and Hon. Governor Koike in the future. Vice Governor Mr. Hasegawa expressed his sincere hopes to see to it that Tokyo would help Kabul to develop as it has into the future. Vice Governor Mr. Hasegawa also wished Dr. Tajik a pleasant and fruitful trip in Japan. The gentlemen further discussed topics of pertinent and mutual interest.

建設事業本部参事の田中氏と佐藤工業株式会社の佐藤氏と会合

2019年6月26日: 長い友人関係である建設事業本部参事の田中均氏と佐藤工業株式会社の佐藤氏から駐日アフガニスタン大使館へご一報いただいたことはモハバット大使にとってとても喜ばしいことでありました。

モハバット大使と佐藤工業株式会社とは長い付き合いがあったため、田中氏と佐藤氏のアフガニスタン大使館への訪問を温かく受け入れ、感謝の意を示しました。加えて、田中氏の退職に際してモハバット大使は長きにわたる友好関係と、田中氏による多くの功績への尽力について述べ、今後のご多幸の意を表しました。田中氏と佐藤氏はアフガニスタンへの投資と再建設を通して日本とアフガニスタンが相互に利益を得られるような関係性を築くことへの展望について議論しました。アフガニスタンへの建設開発は、佐藤工業株式会社の技術進歩のみならず、アフガニスタンの経済、雇用、財政においてもさらなる向上の一端を担うものであるとモハバット大使は述べました。その言葉を田中氏と佐藤氏は強く受けとめ、今後アフガニスタンへの投資戦略に尽力を尽くすことを述べられました。

2019年6月26日: 駐日アフガニスタン大使館において、モハバット大使は在アフガニスタン日本国大使館前参事官の原圭一氏と在アフガニスタン大使館日本国大使館新参事官の高橋良明氏と会合いたしました。

　原氏は、今回の会合に感謝の意を述べ、モハバット大使もまたお二人にお会いできたことに喜ばれました。加えて、原氏の在職期間中におけるモハバット大使また外交関係者らの尽力に感謝の意を表し、次期参議官を担う高橋氏のもと日本とアフガニスタン双方のより円滑で持続的な関係構築を願いました。

モハバット大使は原氏の長きにわたるアフガニスタンと日本における外交業務に感謝の意を示し、今後の活躍を祈念しました。また、高橋氏は、今後アフガニスタンと日本の更なる友好関係を築くための最善案についてモハバット大使と協議し、いくつかお互いの関心事についても語りました。

June 26, 2019: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor of meeting again with Mr. Keiichi Hara, outgoing Deputy Chief of Mission for the Embassy of Japan in Kabul; and Mr. Yoshiaki Takahashi, incoming Deputy Chief of Mission for the Embassy of Japan in Kabul, at the embassy here in Tokyo.

Mr. Hara thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for making time in his schedule to meet and expressed his sincere thanks for the warm welcome each time he visits. In return H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked him for his kind words and expressed his appreciation for Mr. Hara’s time for meeting again. Moreover, Mr. Hara thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat and all the diplomats and official of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Afghanistan for their support and assistance throughout his tenure as DCM. Additionally, he expressed his wishes for a smooth transition and continuation of the warm bilateral cooperation under the tenure of Mr. Takahashi.

On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat, extended his gratitude for the service of Mr. Hara over the years, wished him the best in all his future endeavors, and thanked him for the long support and assistance of the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan which has stood with Afghanistan during the rebuilding process, and like others from the international community, striving to help bring further peace and security to Afghanistan. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat assured Messrs. Hara and Takahashi that close and friendly relations they have enjoyed over the years will continue on under Mr. Takahashi. Mr. Takahashi along with H.E. 2019年6月24日: 高円宮妃殿下と守谷慧さん、絢子さん（後者　旧姓：高円宮絢子様）のための夕食会を東京の大使公邸で催すことはバシール・モハバット特命全権大使にとって非常に光栄で喜ばしいことでした。

ご来賓の皆様のご到着時、モハバット大使は高円宮妃殿下と守谷夫妻とマウラナ・ルミ・バルヒホールの玄関広間で挨拶をし、忙しいスケジュールの中、大使公邸で会う時間を作って頂いたことに感謝を述べられました。これを受けて高円宮妃殿下と守谷夫妻はモハバット大使に今回の招待と歓迎に感謝を示されました。挨拶に引き続き、モハバット大使は先日の守谷夫妻のご結婚を祝し、アフガニスタンの伝統的な結婚後の式典に似た歓迎会でご来賓の皆様をおもてなしなさいました。

歓迎会に引き続き、モハバット大使はご来賓の皆様にお会い出来たこの機会を祝し、アフガニスタン料理を振る舞い、大使公邸を案内されました。

June 24, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to host a small luncheon for Hon. Ms. Mariko Nakasone, former Chairman of the International Ladies Benevolent Society, and Ms. Mary Katayama, of ILBS, in the Ambassador’s Residence within the embassy building.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat Thanked Hon. Ms. Nakasone and Mr. Katayama for making time in their schedule to join him as guests for what was sure to be an enjoyable lunch of specially prepared Afghan food. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, he thanked the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan for their steadfast and benevolent support over the years as Afghanistan has endeavored for progress, prosperity, and peace. In return, Hon. Ms. Nakasone and Mrs. Katayama thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for hosting them for a lovely luncheon gathering at the Ambassador’s residence and moreover assured him that they would do all in their power to continue the support to Afghanistan well into the future. All those present further discussed topics of mutual interest in a very warm and friendly environment.

July 23, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to meet with Mr. Masataka Nakahara, Visiting Senior Advising Expert on Afghanistan for Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), who is a longtime personal friend of H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat, as well as a longtime friend of the people of Afghanistan, at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan. Also in attendance was Mr. Nasrullah Rozbeh, Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo.

His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat once again warmly welcomed Mr. Nakahara to the Embassy stating how much he always appreciated his visits. In return, Mr. Nakahara expressed his deepest gratitude to H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat for always finding time in his busy schedule to meet with him and at this time gave him a briefing of his most recent trip to Afghanistan. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed heartfelt thanks for Japan, and most notably JICA’s contribution to developing education, health, and agriculture both rurally and in urban areas in Afghanistan which will enable it to be self-sufficient in rice production in the years to come. Mr. Nakahara assured that he and his team will continue to cooperate for constant gains in those fields, especially in agriculture. Mr. Nakahara also called for support for Afghan graduates from study in Japan, to whom they provided scholarships, in their future careers in Afghanistan.

2019年6月22日: ネパール連邦民主共和国特命全権大使のプラティヴァ・ラナ大使が大使公邸にて主催する夕食会に出席する事は、バシール・モハバット特命全権大使にとって光栄なことでした。また、ミャンマー連邦共和国特命全権大使のトゥレイン・タン・ジン大使、インドの特命全権大使のサンジェイ・クマール・ヴァルマ大使、そしてインド公使の岩間公典公使が出席しました。

モハバット大使はラナ大使に素敵な食事会への招待に感謝をし、アフガニスタン・イスラム共和国の国民と政府を代表して、ネパールの国民と政府の長年に渡る親切な支援や友好的な関係に、さらに感謝をしました。これを受けてラナ大使は、モハバット大使の出席と優しい言葉に感謝をし、ネパールの国民と政府は今後もアフガニスタンの平和のために寄り添っていくことを約束されました。夕食会の間、モハバット大使は夕食会に参加した他の大使の方々にもう一度会ってたくさんのお話をする事ができて喜ばれていました。

Ms. Prativa Rana, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to Japan, at the Ambassador’s Residence in Tokyo. Also in Attendance were H.E. Mr. Thurain Thant Zin, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Japan; H.E. Mr. Sanjay Kumar Verma, Ambassador of India to Japan; and H.E. Ambassador Mr. Kiminori Iwama, Chiefo of Protocol for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat thanked H.E. Ambassador Ms. Rana for the invitation to the lovely dinner reception and further thanked her on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for the kind support and friendly relations over the years by the people and Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal over the years. In return, H.E. Ms. Rana thanked H.E Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance as well as for his kind words, assuring him that the people and Government of Nepal would continue to stand by the people and Government of Afghanistan well in the future and as it continues it Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process. June 22, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend and serve as a judge on the panel for the 2019 Japanese Language Speech Contest for Foreign Diplomats, hosted by the Organizing Committee for the Japanese Speech Contest for Diplomats, at the Akasaka Kumin Center Hall in Tokyo.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed thanks for inviting him to serve on the judging panel to host, Hon. Mr. Iwao Shibata, President of the Japanese Speech Contest 2019 for Foreign Diplomats Organizing Committee; and Hon. Dr. Gunei Sato, Professor of Global Japanese Studies at Meiji University and Chair of the Japanese Speech Contest 2019 for Foreign Diplomats, remarking on how wonderful offering this type of contest to the diplomats on mission in Japan to incentivize and enhance their Japanese Language learning.

On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, he thanked Hon. Mr. Shibata and Hon. Dr. Sato for the steadfast and benevolent support of the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan over the years as Afghanistan has striven for progress, prosperity, and peace. In return, Hon. Mr. Shibata and Hon. Dr. Sato not only thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words but also for participating as a judge on the panel given his fluency in the Japanese Language and long time in the country.

2019年6月22日: 東京の赤坂区民センターで行われた、各国大使館員日本語スピーチコンテスト2019に出席し、審査員を務めたことは、バシール・モハバット特命全権大使にとって光栄なことでした。

モハバット大使はコンテストへの招待と審査委員を務めさせていただく事を各国大使館員日本語スピーチコンテスト2019組織委員会代表の柴田巖氏と明治大学教授で今回のスピーチコンテストの司会者である佐藤郡衛教授に感謝を述べました。佐藤教授はこのようなコンテストは外交官の日本語学習を奨励する素晴らしい機会だと述べていました。

モハバット大使はアフガニスタン・イスラム共和国の国民と政府を代表して、柴田氏と佐藤氏に、何十年もアフガニスタンの進歩、繁栄、平和に励んでいる日本の国民と政府について深く感謝をしました。これを受けて柴田氏と佐藤氏は、モハバット大使の優しい言葉だけでなく、日本語が流暢で長年日本に住んでいる大使が審査員として出席することにも感謝を述べました。

コンテストの間、モハバット大使は素晴らしい大使や、日本に仕事を持つ外交官、そしてコンテストに出席した全ての人に会う事ができて喜ばれていました。

June 19, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat in his capacity as non-Resident Ambassador of Afghanistan to the Republic of the Philippines, to attend the 121st Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence at Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.

On behalf of the people and Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed his sincerest congratulations on this most auspicious occasion to H.E. Mr. Jose Castillo Laurel V., Ambassador of the Philippines. Moreover, he thanked the people and Government of the Philippines for their generous support over the years as Afghanistan has striven for development, prosperity, and peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. In return, H.E. Mr. Jose Castillo Laurel V. thanked Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance and kind words and wished for the continuation of profound relations between Afghanistan and the Philippines well into the future.

While at the reception, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with longtime friend of Afghanistan and himself, Chief Representative of the Komei Party and Member of the House of Councilors of Japan, H.E. Mr. Natsuo Yamaguchi, as well as H.E. Mr. Hassan Bin Mohammed Rafei Al-Emadi Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, and several of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, Diplomats with missions in Japan, and high ranking members of several Governments all present in honor of the most auspicious occasion.

民間外交推進協会の第36回定時総会に出席しました

2019年6月18日: モハバット大使は、帝国ホテルで行われた民間外交推進協会（FEC）の第36回定時総会に参加しました。

また、信越化学工業株式会社代表取締役会長、民間外交推進協会会長の金川千尋氏とお会いし、今回の総会への参加と今後の日本とアフガニスタンの関係向上について会談しました。さらに、日本のながきにわたるアフガニスタンの平和、繁栄、発展に向けた支援に対し感謝の意を述べました。金川会長もまたモハバット大使の出席に感謝し、今後もアフガニスタンへの支援を進めていく意向を示しました。

今回の総会は、日本と諸外国の政府関係者との関係強化を目的に行われました。総会のなかで、モハバット大使は駐日サンマリノ大使、駐日外交団長であるマンリオ・カデロ氏やその他外交関係者らなどの多くの企業関係者らにもにお会いしました。

2019年6月18日: モハバット大使は、国立劇場で行われた、日本芸術文化振興会主催のDiscover KABUKI-神霊矢口渡　鑑賞教室に出席しました。

また、モハバット大使は今回の鑑賞教室の主催者である日本芸術文化振興会河村潤子理事長と国立劇場の運営組織の方々にアフガニスタンに対する日本の友好関係と支援について感謝の意を述べ、今回の鑑賞教室に参加できたことを喜ばれました。

さらにイベントの中でモハバット大使は文化庁長官である宮田亮平氏にお会いし、アフガニスタンへの日本の平和、繁栄、発展の取り組みに感謝の言葉を述べました。ほかにも今回出席された多くの政府、外交関係者の方々にお会いされたことを喜ばれました。

June 18, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the 36th Founding Anniversary annual Members Gathering of the NPO the International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC) at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat met with one of the hosts for the evening, the Hon. Dr. Chihiro Kanagawa, Chairman of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. Ltd. and Chairman of the the FEC, whom he congratulated on the 36th anniversary of the foundation of FEC as well as thanked for the invitation to the event and the opportunity to further enhance Japan and Afghanistan relations. Further, and on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, he thanked the noble people and Government of Japan for their steadfast and benevolent support of Afghanistan over the years as they have striven for development, prosperity, and peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. In return, Hon Dr. Kanagawa thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance and his kind words assuring him that the FEC would do all to help continue friendship and support to Afghanistan so it can continue its peace process.

The gathering was held for the purpose of strengthening international relationships between Japan and foreign dignitaries. While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the opportunity to meet with H.E. Ambassador Mr. Manlio Cadelo, Ambassador of the Republic of San Marino to Japan and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Japan, in addition to several of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, diplomats with missions in Japan, dignitaries from Japan’s political and business sectors, as well as other distinguished guests all present to partake in the networking opportunity.

June 18, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the “Discover Kabuki – Shinrei Yaguchi no Watashi” performance hosted by the Japan Arts Council at the National Theater in Tokyo.

On behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat extended sincere gratitude and appreciation to the host of the evening, the Hon. Ms. Junko Kawamura, President of the Japan Arts Council and Governing Body of National Theaters, for the friendship and support the noble nation of Japan and her people have shown to Afghanistan over the years. Moreover, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat congratulated Hon. Ms. Kawamura on a most propitious Kabuki event. In return, Hon. Ms. Kawamura thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance and his kind words.

While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with the Hon. Mr. Ryohei Miata, Secretary of the Agency for Cultural Affairs of the Government of Japan, to whom he expressed wholehearted gratitude on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for the steadfast and benevolent assistance by the people and Government of Japan as Afghanistan has striven for development, prosperity, and peace in an Afghan-owed and Afghan-led process. 2019年6月13日: モハバット大使は、リーダーシップとイノベーションを沿革とした大学院大学至善館のコーディー・マルシャルク氏と天野鉄太郎氏からの表敬訪問を行いました。また、今回の表敬訪問には駐日アフガニスタン大使館の第3秘書であるアブダルハミード・ハシミ氏も同行しました。

モハバット大使とハシミ氏はマルシャルク氏と天野氏を温かく受け入れ、日本政府や人々のながきにわたるアフガニスタンへの支援に感謝の意を示しました。日本はアフガニスタンの再建に手を差し伸べ、現在の状況へと導いたため、アフガニスタン人は日本へ感謝と敬意の気持ちを持っています。また、モハバット大使は日本とアフガニスタンの関係強化には、アフガニスタンの将来を担うリーダーが最先端の教育を通してより高度な人材教育ができる場を設けることが必要であると述べました。マルシャルク氏と天野氏はどちらも大学院大学至善館がアフガニスタンからの入学を受け入れる意向を示し、アフガニスタンの発展と同様、日本とアフガニスタンの関係強化に役立つことを述べました。最後に、今回の取り決めはアフガニスタンの社会に貢献することを述べ、様々な話題について会談しました。

2019年6月13日: モハバット大使は、株式会社クラレの繊維カンパニー繊維素材企画開発部主管を務める山本恵一氏と、クラレ株式会社の慈善事業に参加した写真家の内堀たけし氏からの表敬訪問に喜ばれました。

クラレ株式会社は、2004年からアフガニスタンの子供たちへランドセルを寄付する活動を行っています。ランドセルは耐久性に優れ、使い勝手もよく機能的であるため、クラレ株式会社は150,000人を超える子供たちにランドセルを寄付しました。

モハバット大使は、山本氏と内堀氏を歓待し、アフガニスタンの子供たちへの長年にわたる慈善事業に感謝を示し、寄付されたランドセルは将来の世代へ受け継がれていくことを述べました。山本氏と内堀氏ともに教育設備の充実がアフガニスタンの将来を担う子供たちのために重要であると話し、モハバット大使もアフガニスタン国全体で平和の進展につながるよい機会が得られたと感じられました。

June 13, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to receive a courtesy call by Mr. Cody Marschalk and Mr. Tetsutaro Amano, of Shizenkan University’s Graduate School of Leadership and Innovation at the Embassy in Tokyo. Also in attendance was Mr. AbdulHameed Hashimi, Third Secretary for the Embassy of Afghanistan in Tokyo.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat and Mr. Hashimi welcomed Messrs. Marschalk and Amano to the embassy. Additionally, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat extended his gratitude, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for the long support and assistance of the people and Government of the noble nation of Japan. Japan has stood with Afghanistan during the rebuilding process, helping to bring Afghanistan to its current progress & achievements, and their help to develop the human capacity holds a place of appreciation and honor in the heart of Afghans. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also expressed optimism for the relationship between Japan and Afghanistan may become stronger across many venues and asked for their support to increase the scholarship opportunities for Afghan students at their institution in order that Afghanistan’s future leaders may receive the cutting edge top ranking education and thus to help continue the human capacity development of Afghanistan for maximizing progress. Messrs. Marschalk and Amano both expressed their intentions to assure that Shizenkan University would accept Afghan applicants into their program, and believed that in doing so it would serve as a great assistance to increasing ties between Afghanistan and Japan as well as to continue the forward progress for Afghanistan. Moreover, they noted this commitment would foster the progress and advancement of Afghanistan’s society and well-being. All those present further discussed topics or pertinent interest.

June 13, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to receive a courtesy call by Mr. Keiichi Yamamoto, Manager for the Fiber Materials Planning & Development Department for Kuraray Co. Ltd., and Mr. Takeshi Uchibori, Professional Photographer on for Kuraray charitable events, at the Embassy in Tokyo.

Kuraray Co. Ltd., a member of the Mizuho Keiretsu and originated in Kurashiki City in Okayama Prefecture, since 2004 has been actively donating Japanese style children’s backpacks called “randoseru” to Afghan children. These randoseru backpacks are known for their durability, convenience, and unique styled-to-function abilities, and thus far Kuraray has donated over 150,000 randoseru unites to at-need children in Afghanistan.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat warmly welcomed Messrs. Keiichi Yamamoto and Takeshi Uchibori to the embassy. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, he sincerely thanked them for their magnificent efforts and generosity over the many years in outfitting young students with the durable randoseru to help facilitate their studies, thus investing in education and in future generations of Afghans as these randoseru can be passed on along over the generations. In return, they thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and assured him that the promotion of education and the enhancements of facilitating the young, future leaders of Afghanistan, will always be a priority for them. At this time, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat took the opportunity to apprise Messrs. Keiichi Yamamoto and Takeshi Uchibori of the advance made by the National Unity Government in the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process.
