It was the pleasure and honor of His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie to meet with Honorable Mr. Kenshiro Matsunami, president of Nippon Sport Science University Group, the Ambassador's and Afghanistan's long-time, good friend, at Hon. Mr. Matsunami's office.
As Hon. Mr. Matsunami is the president of Japan-Afghanistan Association, and a former lawmaker, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie expressed his appreciation on behalf of his country to Hon. Mr. Matsunami for his continued support and friendship. The two further discussed issues of mutual interest including the Japan-Afghanistan Parliamentary Friendship League activity in an amicable atmosphere.

21/07/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Gives a Guest Lecturer at NUFS

His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had a pleasure of visiting Nagoya University of Foreign Studies, as a special guest lecturer. Prior to the lecture, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie met with Professor Ikuo Kameyama, president of NUFS. H.E. Dr. Fatimie was warmly welcomed by Prof. Kameyama, and thanked him, the school, as one of the educational institution for their investment and effort in such a precious field, to the capacity building. Japan has been providing largely through Japan International Cooperation Agency assistances to Afghan students and officials scholarship, which have been greatly effective for the country’s reconstruction effort, H.E. Dr. Fatimie added. It was further a pleasure of H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie to meet and discussed the issues of mutual interest with Prof. Toshinori Tamai, vice president and dean; and Prof. Tomoyasu Kimura, head of English Language Education, both from School of Contemporary International Studies.

The lecture was attended by many enthusiastic students, of some who already had lists of questions to ask to H.E. Dr. Fatimie. H.E. Ambassador Fatimie spoken on long friendship and shared customs between Afghanistan and Japan, titled “History and Culture of Afghanistan”. Citing the achievements Afghanistan has made in last 15 years, H.E. Dr. Fatimie introduced many aspects of Afghanistan, and relation with Japan. After the lecture, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie was delighted to hear from the attended students that His Excellency’s lecture was very informative, and changed their image of Afghanistan positively.

Dr. Mohabbat Meets with Hon. Ms. Noda

July 19, 2016: Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Minister-Counselor, visited the House of Representatives’ Chairman of the Special Committee on Disaster Management, the Honorable Ms. Seiko Noda, Member of the House of Representatives, at her office of the Diet. Madam Mohabbat was also present at the meeting, as they all have been long-time good friends.

While Dr. Mohabbat thanked Hon. Ms. Noda for her continuing support for Afghanistan and its people, the two discussed their commitment to points made at the Tokyo Conference on Afghanistan in 2012, and how to proceed with this year’s Brussels Conference on Afghanistan which is scheduled to be held on October 4-5. Dr. Mohabbat further conveyed the request of the Government of Afghanistan to Japan the participation of the highest ranking official possible. They also agreed that the greater international community’s participation is pivotal to the conference’s success.

The smooth and friendly meeting was concluded by Hon. Noda promising that she would continue doing the best within her capacity for the welfare and future of her Afghan friends.

His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had a pleasure of attending the Bicentenary of the Independence Day of Argentina reception. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had an honor and pleasure of meeting H.E. Ms. Susana Malcorra, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Argentine Republic (pictured on the top), and H.E. Ambassador Mr. Alan Beraud (pictured below), and expressed his congratulations to Their Excellencies, as well as wished the development of friendly relationship between the two countries, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
The reception was attended by many high ranking key Japanese officials and policy makers, including H.E. Mr. Yoji Muto, State Minister for Foreign Affairs (pictured above); the Honorable Mr. Kozo Yamamoto, Member of the House of Representatives; and Hon. Ms. Yukari Sato, Member of the House of Representatives, of whom H.E. Dr. Fatimie discussed the issues of mutual interest.

His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie and Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Minister-Counselor and Deputy Head of Mission, had the pleasure of attending the Special Presentation on the 13th Annual Meeting of STS Forum. The Science and Technology in Society Forum has organized the annual meeting to promote the good use of science and technology for a sustainable life, with the attendance of more than 1,300 people every year. This year, it will be held on October 2-4 in Kyoto, and 100 'future leaders' are invited, and the attendance of highest ranking officials from the countries were kindly requested.
In the presentations, the overviews of the forum were briefed from the government offices depending on the policy topics: science and technology including ministerial roundtable, innovation fro Cool Earth Forum (ICEF), and Information-Communication Technology (ICT).
It was a pleasure of H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie and Dr. Mohabbat in meeting with the Honorable Mr. Koji Omi, Founder and Chairman of STS forum, former Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare; the Hon. Ms. Asako Omi, Member of the House of Representatives, and Secretary General of the forum; and Mr. Takayuki Shirao, Director General of the forum.

His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had a pleasure of attending Eid ul Fitr reception held at Arabic Islamic Institute in Tokyo, hosted by H.E. Ambassador Mr. Ahmad Younos S. Al Barrak of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On the first day of Eid as this year's Holy month of Ramadan ended, the reception was held with the attendance of Their Excellencies Ambassadors of Islamic countries. H.E. It was His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie’s pleasure in attending the 240th Independence Day Celebration of the United States of America, held at Tokyo American Club. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the pleasure of meeting again H.E. Ambassador Ms. Caroline Kennedy of the USA, and expressed the congratulations for the occasion as well as the generous support of the US to Afghanistan, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. In response H.E. Ambassador Kennedy appreciated the kind words, and her pleasure of meeting again with H.E. Dr. Fatimie.
Among many attended, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie also had the pleasure and honor to meet again Mr. John Durkin, Representative Governor of TAC (pictured above), and the Honorable Mr. Masaaki Takei, Mayor of Minato City - Tokyo. H.E. Ambassador congratulated Hon. Mr. Takei for his recent mayoral reelection, and expressed to both of them that he was looking forward to continuing the good relationship in the neighborhood, between the embassy and TAC, and Minato City.
